The stupidity of Some on the board

I think its time for me to have a moan about some things that have been frustrating me on the board over the last few months.

More and more people, some new some old come on here and post the most pointless shit. some of it really could just be avoided. this ranges from the idiots that post order details on the sponsors section, to the people who post unnecessary arguments on the board. the most pathetic of them are the ones saying things like "why dont you come by my city and we'll settle this. you can find me by ABC gym, i'm the one with long hair" etc. for christs sake. how old are we. do you honestly think that offering someone a fight over the internet is going to solve anything. for shits sake its words on a computer. grow up.

the second is the people who use stupid fucking comments to increase their post count. People come on, posts dont mean you have more knowledge or respect on the board. some of the guys here who have been here years have only got a couple of hundred posts. it seems there is an abundance of people now using the sponsor section to get their post count up. the big ones now are " Sponsor XXX you have mail" :- ok so thanks for letting the world know you have just emailed the sponsor. i'm sure the sponsor actually regularly checks the board to know if he should bother to check his emails. or perhaps, just perhaps, they check emails every day anyway as more than 1 person might actually email them!!! or the other one is, "I emailed them and just got a bounceback". well dumbass, everyone will get one if an autoreply is set up. regardless of email content. hence the word AUTOreply.

The Laziness of people is also unreal!!! to use a search button is so simple yet the amount of questions that are asked over and over is beyond a joke. When you could actually find the answer in a quicker time than waiting for a reply from someone in the know

I know this rant probably came out of nowhere but I think its just getting stupid now with the way that people are acting on here.

j/k, I know what you mean, it happens even on the best boards, sucks but best to just ignore 'em. The good thing about this board is there are some very very high quality post and info. oh and the sponsors are awesome

agreed. And what you read is the stuff we leave up. You should see what we delete. I am seriously thinking about starting mass bans.

the sponsor section is rediculous. its ashame that the mods have to spend so much time patroling that area to keep it safe that they dont get the chance to impart their vast amounts of knowledge on us. im sure BIG A didn't name it professionalmuscle for shits and giggles. i dont mind the redundant questions as much because each time a question is asked you get a few new ideas coming at it. but thats just me.

I'm guilty of racking up my post count, but I'm unemployed currently and waste too much time on the internet lol.. I don't think my posts are totally stupid, well most of them anyway haha.. Just checked my stats and I'm putting up a steady 7.59 posts per day..

I don't look at post count numbers being correlated with credibility tho.. You can get the idea when someone knows what they're talking about, and a high post count does not automatically categorize you as such, by any means..

one thing that really sticks out to me is this...
Some of the guys on here post in just about EVERY sponsor thread. Manic posting and purchasing, or...well...something else.

Also, it seems like every sponsor thread has 1 guy that just swings from their gigantic balls ALL THE TIME.

Agree, but there may be more to it too...

I do agree. If I can I'd like to share another avenue of thought too...

I know for me, I've been in the "game" for 20 years, but only on the "other side" recently as well as actually having the desire/decision to start posting here. My point is, even though I had been reading this board for a long time, I still had a learning to curve of what is OK to post (had several posts deleted that I thought were quite "neutral" or vague enough, but no-go).

Also, while I hear you this is a bodybuilding board, it is also a community. Take the recent massive thread concern for Phidias. So, if someone asks what everyone ate today, it's a community, it brings fellowship, accountability, encouragement, etc.

Out of all my friends at work and church there is really no one that works out (or are at least that into it like many of us are). At the gym, I'm pretty much all business simply due to constant time constraints. So I have no one to really talk to about these kinds of things.

And hey, we all had to learn (I still am!). And for those "vets" here, that's part of their responsibility, to be an example of what is appropriate and not.

I'm going to write this at the risk of "getting into trouble". I believe it needs to be talked about, and I suppose a thread about stupid posts is a good place to start.

I see a real lack of brotherhood , and alot of this "vibe" seems to come from one member in particular (and what appears to be his howler monkey, poo flinging fan club) . I'm sure he attracts quite a bit of business, so I doubt he'll be going anywhere.

In the hours I have spent searching for answers on this forum, I come accross alot of his posts and threads. He seems to always end up in a petty arguement, and always seems to revert back to "throw up a pic"..."lets see you in posing trunks". I TRULY feel that ignorance, and brash childish behavior like this brings down the Quality of the board, although I'm sure it boosts the traffic.

I just wish there was a better atmosphere. It seems like all these internet persona guys carry around their imaginary balls in a wheelbarrow. It's no wonder this sport can't go mainstream, we treat each other like crap, why would we expect people who don't understand us to treat us any better?
