For anyone who has tried LDN what dosage did you start with and what time did you take it? And how soon did you notice benefits?

-50mg

-in the morning when i wake up i take it with all my other meds, which includes Bupropion (for binge eating and depression)

-since i take it with bupropion for binge eating it's hard to say, but i know that together i'm pretty much completely over binge eating and haven't engaged in that behavior since taking these drugs. That effect began immediately.

I don't believe there is danger involved... I'm pretty sure if you take it at the same time as an opiate it's just going to block some of the effects.

Bump. Can people please share experiences on this? I have been dealing with this horrible light headness/spaced out feeling for 16 months now on and off (mostly on). It's impacted my life in such an awful way at times, where I am forcing myself to do things despite being so out of it all the time. I may have an autoimmune disease, but I have no aches and pains so who knows. Could LDN be a solution? More importantly, is there a way to get it without having to buy the giant 50mg tabs for recovering addicts?

Hey, I have been dealing with chronic health problems for about 15 years now. I have tried LDN and I know a number of people who have. It seems to be hit or miss. Some people get really good results and some people it really doesn't do much for. I would say just try it. I got the 50 mg tabs and compounded it myself in water. As far as dosage I have heard of people starting as low as 1mg a night and working there way up to 5mg. You don't want to go above 5 mg from my understanding or the blockade will actually work against your immune system. And you want to take it before you sleep because I believe the time your body produces endorphins is early in the morning so this will produce the most drastic OGF rebound. Dang man, u ever consider getting a full body scan?

I ended up having an inner ear problem and that was my culprit...

Oh and my buddy sent me this IF anyone believes in this sort of thing?

I just updated my thread on possibly having MS...I don't have it! Back to spine doc and deal with the neck and spine.

My pain doc asked me about trying low dose naltrexone...he explained a few things regarding studies and I agreed to try it. When I got home I did a search on it and I was floored at what was being accomplished with low dose naltrexone and auto immune diseases including MS, Chrone's, ulcerative cholitis, etc along with many types of cancer. It's also been great for chronic pain. It's really incredible!

Naltrexone is essentially a longer acting version of Naloxone (aka Narcan) which we use to reverse opiate overdoses in emergent situations and boy does it work FAST. The relatively newer Naltrexone has been used in hospitals & clinics for at least 10 years now but the FDA indications for its use were & still remain extremely limited. Given their similar mechanisms of action as Mu/Kappa receptor antagonists, most clinicians have a strong tendency to avoid Rx'ing Naltrexone due to a known potentially lethal pharmacological phenomenon.

Naltrexone can be effective for the ideal subset of patients but could prove fatal for the subset of non-compliant patients.

I think it's Lyme. I had a western blot done last year and it showed evidence that I may have it, but I only have neurological symptoms and zero body pain so who knows. Going to see specialists soon

That's NOT low dose, you're using it for a different reason. Your protocol isn't LDN,

LDN is 1mg-2mg

You're right. I did not realize my dose was not considered LDN.
