Nah I think training goes before recovery, just think of all the people who sleep well and eat good, if we are speaking bodybuilding, they don't look fit just small or thin. I know a lot of college guys for example that party train and study like crazy only getting a few hours of sleep a night, and they still have decent builds. You WILL benefit from training if you don't rest, just not even close to the same degree.

Also I all those things you list are the "Physicals" I group Physicals as one when I look at whats most important. I feel that your Mind and your emotions are a bigger factor then your physical, the first 2 control the physicals.


Dave the reason I put recovery in the order that I did is that recovery seems in my opinion to be overlooked the most by beginning to moderate level body builders. With supplementation you sometimes feel like you can train much harder, more often and not feel run down, and many of us subconsciously have that "More is better" approach that is mentioned below. I guess I just assume that most people train hard as a given for becoming a bodybuilder and train harder and harder sometimes sacrificing recovery. I have certainly had these tendencies especially when I used to use supplements even though I know better.

and about the diet, recovery, training, ect. ect. ect. when i put recovery higher in the equation that is when i really began to grow! Recovery is really one of the key ingredients in the formula to muscle growth, i am a huge believer in that now, and recovery just doesn't mean sleep it means a LOT of things especially when it comes to training and training frequency, and not just muscle recovery but also central nervous system recovery among other things. ;)

But B-Boy can you go into some detail that you do for recovery methods? Some of the that has worked for you... whether it be training splits/diet/supps ect. Thanks.
 
Making mistakes...

Making mistakes is part of learning...making the SAME mistakes over and over is what keeps us stagnant.
 
People will forgive you for what you do to them, but they'll never forget how you made them feel.

training split has been the most beneficial to me, i switched to BigA's growth for beginners routine and i have grown and grown. simple 3 day hit type workout, and i am actually taking time off from gym when my body calls for it, something that i normally never do. these things have made the biggest difference in my recovery this year.
 
I think all of these are some great lessons. If you feel some of them aren't, maybe you just have realized it for yourself yet. ;)

Here's a couple.
There's more to life than being huge - Although it is nice
Moderation - Whoever said that, I second it.
Acne needs to be treated even if your big (Yes, I was guilty :D )
