just doing some quick math in my head and i dont think those numbers quite work out.

say roughly 500,000 x 200 people =100,000,000
100,000,000 x 10 = 1 billion
So far we have given 500,000 to 2,000 people and have spend 1 billion.
So rough numbers, we could give 500,000 to 170,000 people

I know these aren't exact numbers, but you get my point.

Ohh BTW, that's still a shit ton of money! LOL

Where did you get that math at..85 billion / 200 million is only $425 each not 425,000 ea,,

like I said, it's an e-mail floating around, I didn't check to see if the figures worked out or not.

Evidentually, he is not a rocket scientist.:D
I guess not.... $425 wouldn't even make a monthly payment on most cars neverless pay off one's house:)

The guy that sent me that email with the flawed math has a $70 million dollar development circling the drain taking him with it. I wonder if his math shortcomings and his failure are related.

BTW he sent it to his whole address book, including bankers and investors. Might be tougher to raise money next time.

the bailout is supposed to be 700 billion, not 85 billion

700 billion is this number:

700,000,000,000

200 million is this number:

200,000,000

if you divide 700 billion by 200 million you get 3500

the original statement of 85 billion divided among 200 million people yields only $425 per person

where is 450,000 coming from?

The 85 billion is the AIG bailout..
