Feel free to fast forward for the footage. I know it's not truly comparable but, in your eye, if you're old enough to have the memory.

IMO they blow the old generation out of the water conditioning wise as a whole. Striated glutes werent common now they are required. Yes there are outliers like Ronnie but he's an outlier on everything lol.

There were amazing bodybuilders then. And there are amazing bodybuilders now. It was a blast watching Sosa and McGuire chase the home run record and it is awesome to see Shohei and Judge blasting bombs too. No reason to compare just recognize greatness in both generations.

I was at that AC in person. I don't think anyone from this years Olympia would beat Phil or Kai

Of course. Unless Kai has a waistline problem and his past with grapefruits, how could he beat Phil like that? Who would do that? Even though he's a smaller version of himself, he looks like he has twice as much muscle as anyone else on this Mr. O.

Blow the old generation out of the water as a whole? Conditioning wise?

I don’t really give two shits about the old vs new debate but I for damn sure ain’t seeing what you are seeing (as you said, there are outliars- Keone). I think the sport is regressing as a whole.

That was a gift wrapped up w a pretty bow for Lunsford this year and that line up was largely disappointing.

Ive sat in the third and or the fifth row at the Olympia the last 21 years and I can tell you from this year‘s Olympia the only three guys that really brought it were HADI, Martin And Tonio. Along with that the live stream showed everyone in much better condition than they actually were. I was literally 10 feet from stage.

21 years is insane!!! I think Hadi should have won. I just don’t see striations in Derek yet he gets all the praise and hype. Shoulders and arms look full of oil and leg don’t look hard from the front … what’s your opinion?

i prefer Derek to Hadi..

Hadi's small leg (which is like 4x the size of mine lol) just throws off his symmetry so much IMO

but i personally place more weight on symmetry than i do conditioning, so that's just my .02

that said, Andrew Jacked with a better back and bigger hamstrings should be Mr. O IMO

Without a shred of a doubt- no pun intended , Hadi won the show. Livestream doesn’t show enough. Derek’s look at the AC was better and even better was when he won the O and the year before. I feel bad for Hadi definitely, and I’m a fan of both I want the best man to win

They’ve sacrificed conditioning and detail for overall size in my opinion.

I think that quest has left them with what appears to be thick skin and blurred striations and lack of separation.
Why are 80% of the guys showing up with puffy cheeks and double-chins? I'll never understand that.

Yes, we have more shredded glutes these days - but no one trained glutes directly in the old days, especially the 90s (or earlier), which I think was peak BB.
Less raw mass equals less detail in some cases, especially in a fat and water-prone area.
Striated glutes, but lots of smooth pecs and delts, no separation in the legs, blurred separation in the back, etc.

I said it earlier, but Derek in particular looks both hard and soft. I think I used carved tofu as an analogy.
You could carve all kind of detail in firm tofu, but you know it's soft and yielding to the touch.

they would get rinsed by Andrew
Not with that such a big imbalance between upper and lower body. He needs much, much bigger legs to match the upper body.

Hadi"s leg bothers you but not the fact that Ms. Olympia has better biceps than Derek? 🙄

Wow
