Is it me or is this somewhat of an epidemic? It seems a lot of people suffer from low body temperature and Free T3 (possibly also high rT3). Half of you probably have this and don't even know it.

What is the connection here?

I don’t know NH, how do you diagnose it? Bloodwork?

If it’s just low body temp I sure as shit don’t have that issue, I’m always hot....

Yeah I for sure have it very low now that the gyms temp test me every morning before my workout..im always at a 97.2 F and thats on ECA! I also experience fatigue throughout the day. I have started taking glandular thyroid from bovine and it does work..BUT..it does cause heart palpitations and makes sleep much harder..*sighs* the choice is to be a hypersomniac or an insomniac lol.
I don't know what the connection is to any of this but TRT or not..I always had very low body temp my whole life.

My doctor says hypothyroidism and hypogonadism often go together. I have both and very low natural gh, so the whole pituitary is screwed up. I think it is called partial empty sella syndrome or something. Get your thyroid bloods done, correcting that will make a big difference in how you function on a day to day basis.

What tests should we get done to get a full check up?

TSH, Total T-3, Free T-3, Total T-4 and Free T-4 enough or is there more specific testing?

This is the comprehensive thyroid panel at Life Extension that is $150 while their sale is going.

Our thyroid function lab test assesses all the basics, plus reverse T3, thyroglobulin antibody (ATA) and thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO) to provide a detailed evaluation of the thyroid.
This panel contains the following tests:
  • Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) - Evaluates overall thyroid function
  • Total Thyroxine (T4) - Measures the total amount of T4 produced by the thyroid gland
  • Free Thyroxine (T4) - Measures the amount of T4 available to the cells and tissues
  • Free Tri-iodothyronine (T3) - Measures the amount of T3 (the active form of the hormone) available to the cells and tissues
  • Reverse T3 - Measures the non-functioning form of the active hormone T3
  • Thyroglobulin antibody (ATA) - Often measured along with TPO, these antibodies can attack proteins involved in the production of thyroid hormones rendering them dysfunctional
  • Thyroid Peroxidase antibody (TPO) - Often measured along with ATA, these antibodies can attack proteins involved in the production of thyroid hormones rendering them dysfunctional
