Thyroid Test Results

My thyroid tests came back as follows:

TSH: 3.230
Triiodothyronine, Free, Serum: 2.0
T4, Free (Direct): .79

I will be discussing these results with my physician, but if anyone has any familiarity with this subject matter, I'd love to get their take on this.

Thanks.

At 0.7 t4 and 4.58 tsh, I was put on thyroid replacement. 88 mcg per day. My body temp was at 96.5 degrees at that point. I was probably low for over a decade....guessing by low temp during that time. I feel night and day better now. No more brain fog and lethargy.

Thyroid levels change RADICALLY in most athletes depending on diet and training. The medical industry has almost zero knowledge on this. Very significant changes in thyroid levels (and TSH) can happen in a matter of weeks.

Last year I was running a lot, always had a cold clammy feeling after a lot of cardio, got my tsh tested and it was over 5.

Had it tested again a few weeks ago and it was a 3.4. In my case it changed back to a better level, but it's still off

Doctor's typically care most about the TSH level to determine if thyroid replacement therapy is necessary. My TSH level was at 14.5 when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (almost comatose due to ignoring the issue). I was extremely lethargic, unable to finish a full workout no matter the amount of caffeine induced, and very irritable. I was to the point of having to nap daily in order to function. I was only 22 at the time... I have been on "natural" desiccated thyroid tablets (prescription) for over 7 years. Currently, I am taking Nature-throid has it has less fillers than Armour. DO NOT allow them to prescribe Levothyroxine (Synthroid), the shit is garbage and technically not FDA approved for thyroid treatment as Abbott is unable to produce a consistent dosage. With your TSH at 3.2, you should be fine. With treatment, mine is typically hovering around 0.8-1.2.
