"TIP" Foaming protein and other workout drinks

Since I love you guys so much I'm going to share something I figured out that has made mixing drinks so much easier. The biggest issue I usually have is with BCAA s foaming but this works with any type of drink.




Go to the baby medicine section in Walmart and pick up a bottle of store brand GasX drops. The small bottle comes with a dropper and will last months. When you mix your powders just put 2-3 drops of the Gas drops and shake/blend it like normal. You will notice a huge difference in the amount of foam.

Let me know how it works for you. Oh, and it also keeps you from swallowing so much air trapped in your drink.

Cool tip...when I used BCAA's the foaming from whatever brand I used drove me nuts! If I use them again I'll probably give this a try.

Thanks for the tip. I might have to try this.. i have noticed it with BCAA mainly too... my post workout drink is usually pretty foamy on top.

I've found that letting it sit for a few minutes will typically take care of the foam. I also experience less foaming when water is added to the powder instead of powder to the water.

nothing worse than inhaling your bcaas undissolved into your lungs and nearly choking then coughing them out of your friggin nose, had this happen more the once

I dont have this happen with my bcaa's from TP...but the last 10 lbs of protein I bought from them foamed big time...I just finished up the 10 lbs last week. If I order the same protein I will give this a try!!!

Yes, simethicone and dimethicone are anti-foaming agents. Neither is absorbed by the body. 500mg qd is considered upper dose limit.

Depending on the product or if you add ground oats to your drink it could settle to the bottom requiring you to shake it and the foam comes back. Of course some people just chug their drinks to it isn't too much of a concern for them.
