to cheat or not to cheat

recently i have started back at my diet to cut down to a good clean weght. i consume 6 meals the first three of which have around 45g of protien and 35g of carbs and a 5g or less fat total my last three are the same but all carbs come from greens my question is there is so much confussion about cheat meal some say once a week some say not at all. help my weght is 210lbs

No one can really answer that for you imho. It depends on what you can get away with and how fast you want to reach your goal.
 
When I was loosing my weight, I didn't start having cheat meals until I lost 85% of my weight I wanted to loose.
 
Its a personal choice. If havinga cheat meal is going to make you happy, then have one. Just work harder the next day.

Your post confuses me. So your asking if you can have a cheat meal or not. When thats not a good start is in. Before you start your already thinking about how you can cheat or not. I would have thought the answer would have been common sense. If you follow a good diet for your goals you will reach them with determination and educated effort. If you want a cheat meal then have one. It may take longer but you will still get there if everything else is right. If having a cheat meal stops you from going off the waggon and pigging out then have it as it will result in a better outcome. But the very fact you had to ask the question to begin with isn't a good sign.

hey bud, welcome to PM.
I’m not saying not to post, truly, but seems some guys sign up, and just start question after question which are have been covered by vets and pros many times. So do yourself a favor and read ALL the stickys, then use search option at the top, not because i think your posts are stupid or I am better etc. but because you see too many people leave or have a bad taste in their mouth due to getting lit up for the repetitive questions and lack of research on their own.

Just a suggestion which may make your stay here, more enjoyable and helpful to you.

You should hire a trainer. I've been working with Alex Azarian since beginning of December and I've lost a total of 32 pounds of fat since then. He got me on the right diet and workout regimen. It was the best thing I ever did. I tried to diet on my own and I always failed cuz I just didn't have the right information.

You can ask any and all the question you want from him without fear of being flamed. He usually answers very fast too.

My advice is to spend the money, it's not that much and the best investment you'll ever make, believe me.

You know cheat meals do serve a purpose. And if done right, you can reach a goal faster if done correctly. A cheat meal once or twice during a 16 week diet, can be important. ;)
 
This has nothing to do with cheat meals but looking at your post, I would add 10g of fat to your macros. Make sure your fats are EFA's. This will not only balance out your macros but it'll give you more energy and satisfy your appetite longer. I believe that you'll find yourself burning more adipose tissue as well.

Only cheat if you MUST!!! If you are having a good week and come saturday or sunday and you are not craving a cheat day then dont do it. Don cheat just because its saturday or sunday. Personally if friday or saturday comes around and i am at home i treat it like a normal diet day. If my wife wants to go out for mexican and some cocktails, i go. I eat as clean as i can (Usually ordering the chicken fajitas and just eat the meat) but i do eat some chips and salsa, i just dont go overboard. I might have a mexican beer or two but i dont have 10. Control is the key, that way you wont totally wreck a weeks worth of work.
