Thanks. I have been in for 24 years. Unfortunately, Memorial Day is not happy for a lot of us though I appreciate the sentiment.

I hear ya. I have a tough time with Memorial Day .. Plus my friend(another combat vet) killed himself on the one year anniversary of our other friend killing himself last year. I could barely hold it together the last few days.

Tough run, man. I spend the whole year suppressing memories of those I lost. Memorial day just kind of makes me want to stay inside without the TV on. If anything, I prefer to go to a memorial service. But I just can't get on board with everyone cooking out, drinking at the lake and wishing "Happy" memorial day. It's my issue though, not anyone elses. I don't blast those who don't understand.
