To those who have or have had sleep apnea

So I couldnt sleep. Didnt realize how many electrodes theyd have on me, jeeze. I usually roll around alot to get comfortable, nope not here. .

my favorite was the one they freaking bubble gum glued in my hair


i have had 3 sleep studies over the last 10 years and not all places
are created equall when it comes to how much they suck
kinda right there with dentist offices

if/when they have you in for fitting and set-up try as hard as you can
to get them to allow you to try a couple different masks. this visit will have all the electrodes and a mask too

they dont matter much if you get in bed lie flat on your back and fall asleep
if you toss and turn side-stomach-side ect ect the right mask is gonna be crucial

Dam sleep apnea, shit got me medically separated from airforce last year...of all the things. Wish i was still in loved every minute of it :/

I have sleep apnea also. I had Nasal surgery in May and my EnT actually told me my neck muscles were so big they were pushing my airway in. I thought just fat ppl got Apnea but if your muscular it can no doubt be a problem. Even after my Septoplasty/Turbinate reduction I still had the Apnea. I use a Full Face CPap every night bc during my 2 sleep studies my mouth was wide open all night so the Nasal Cpap mask would have really done nothing. I tried on a few diff Mask in the office and settled on the one I thoughT would work best for how I sleep. I can't even sleep now unless I have it on. It's a calmin thing for me knowing it will keep me alive so I sleep better. Lol. That with my Trt and I feel better. Now I just need to shed 30lbs and I'd feel Great.

Im hoping to be able to not use the machine, but I may have to use it for a while before they ok a surgery. My mom had one (also normal if not under weight) and she didnt like it.

The machine changed my life immensely. I would fall asleep in the car, at my desk, sitting on the couch, etc. Wasn't like I was dragging, I just couldn't stay awake. I did the study and I was diagnosed with severe apnia, which I already knew, based on my symptomology and waking up chiking, etc.

Anyway, energy level way up, mood improved dramatically (actually in good moods and not always grumpy), and even my work-out improved. As far as the machine, I think it also depends on the mask. I like the one that fits over the nose only. I used the full face one (nose and mouth) and hated it.
