Some motivation for my leg training today!

The clanking of the plates is definitely a thing going by the side. Pretty sure I would have ate too close to that workout and thrown up, usually do on leg day....

That would be a dream come true for me to train legs with Platz. I would take a week off the gym just build the glycogen up in my muscle to have a performance semi worthy of the golden eagles presence. The man is a legend. And not just because his quads were insane because of his insane training approach.

Exactly. I think I may even surprise him. I can go full blown mental in the gym when I really let go. I done that today for the first time in a long time. You really have to let yourself go to do it. Go to a certain place mentally. I used to want to feel the pain. I would welcome it. I would do a set until I was shaking on the floor unable to stand up. It still never gave me legs even a fraction like his but still I enjoy it :D It's actually hard to mentally get back into that thought process in the gym but I plan to push my legs over the next few months.

Yes! I love it. I used to be able to do this every day from the time I was 18-23 but now it comes and goes. I took a whole week off the gym a few months ago came back and felt like this again for about 2 weeks. I've noticed the older I get and the harder I train the longer it takes for me to recover so I don't get that overwhelming feeling of just wanting to bend fucking iron.

I used to have a lot more rage and temper back then too. Honestly these days I don't feel it as beneficial to train like this all the time. The past year I've learned to load and deload. Something I wish I would have done years ago I just couldn't make myself slow down. I train a month balls out with super beavy weight with tons of reps then for about 2 weeks I deload and do more pump giant set type stuff to go easy on the tendons and joints. I didn't want to do this but had to and it has been very benefial. I just don't see how guys could train like Platz for months on end. I wouldn't be able to function I would just sleep eat and train lol

Exactly. I have deload periods too. My lower back is bad now so I had a forced deload period. Sometimes I go to the gym and I do stuff I know isn't the best for results but I just love training. By that I mean things like 3 hours of hard training. As you stated it's harder for me to get into that crazy mindset now... partly because I know it isn't needed.

Generally I am much more sensible in the gym now. I only reinjure my back due to a bad injury years ago. I am not doing anything silly in regards to back training. I think what done it last time were 1 plate a side squats  It didn't go in the gym but when I was cooking and stood up straight. It's just something I have to work around. I don't reinjure it if I avoid squats or deadlifts (or similar).

I am stuck to mainly machines now so the weight I use it not very heavy for many movements so I try to up the intensity in other ways.

This one is great...
