With the recent news of his kidney problems, does anyone still think that Tom was upfront about his usage and doseages? The amount and duration he listed for himself on Chad's board seemed awfully low, and the fact that he said he did not use inuslin made me think twice. So what are everyones opinions, is Tom just unlucky or did juice contribute?

I think its more about durietics than juice. I know a few people who have competed, and the use of lasix and others payed a huge reason for them either losing a kidney, or having problems. I think Tom Prince is a ass, but still hope he fully recovers

i've seen his post's on chads board about his cycles. they were very very moderate for someone 5'8" 300. i didn't believe it then and really don't now.

I will go against the grain here and say he was pretty much upfront with his use...

The reason I say this is he was a freak at 22 years old...Most of us on here would never look like him at 22...

Also, there are other things that can cause kidney problems than just AAS...

remember that he also was using many pain meds in dosages that i would consider dangerous for a prolonged period of time...i believe that a.s. was not a heavy factor..

I agree with CHRIS250...

I am sure the 400 grams of protein of the past 12 years caused a good amount of that kidney stress. Along with the other things a top level body builder needs to do good in this business.

i doubt protein had anything to do with his kidney problems

I honestly believe that the heavy amount of pain killers where the main problem...

Every boby use to say when a bb have a kidney problem or liver problem that the problems comes form the extreme use of steroids or diuretics....
folks: EVERYBODY GET SICK EVEN WHEN THEY ARE NORMAL PEOPLE, my syster have thyroid problems and she is not a bb, she is a doctor...dont fall in this error please.

true everyone jumps the gun... and yes some bodybuilders do take large amounts of drugs and do some crazy things to their bodies but it would be impossible to pinpoint what caused his kidney problems unless you were doing the diagnosing on him and he was hoinest with you and even then sometimes people just get sick.

Facts of too much protein

The reality is that too much protein played a mojor role in his case. The doctor, from his article, has him on a very low protein diet, the opposite of a bodybuilders diet for max muscle growth. This tells me that too much protein is hurting Tom. I would never blame AAS in his situation, although many will.
