Too Big

I'm a big guy, 6' 285 haven't worked out for a long time. I've gained 30 lbs over the last 3 weeks and will be 300 pretty soon.

Everytime I start getting really big, to where I feel like I have enough mass to win a contest, I begin to get really embarassed by all the attention.

I begin to wonder if people think I'm a meathead. If people think I'm one dimensional or if girls find me datable.

Does anyone else ever feel similar?

why do you care what others think? be who you are and what you want to be and who cares if other people dont like it...thats their problem not yours.

My quote says it all....

30lbs in three weeks? Wow. I don't know how to answer this one. On one hand, you're embarrassed by all the attention and on the other hand, you're wonder if girls find you datable. Can you clarify any of this a little better because if you're embarrassed by attention, this post tells me you're looking for attention. Many 6ft guys are your weight. Hell I'm a pretty big boy myself at 5.9

I would say that to if I were one of my clients. (I used to be an LCDC) But attention is far from the truth. I know work in an industry that's filled with my time being in the spotlight. What I guess I worry about is the kind of attention and the negative attention that for some reason I think I'm receiving.

I guess I just realized what's going on, sometimes it helps just to get things out. Ultimately, I think all of this has been just an excuse to work towards ultimate success.

If you have always been a shy person, then it it just your nature to be shy. Theres nothing wrong about that. If you have a friend or family member in the audience, then focus on them when you start feeling that way! Or better yet look at the judges and think in your head "this is what they came to see, me!" and have fun up there brother!

Well I wouldnt worry about the meathead thing unless your big and stupid.

Ive been called a meathead...but reality is Im usually more intelligent and more educated than them (law degree and attorney) so...I dont worry about it...and usually I dont find the typical american is gonna say im stupid as a result of my background.

so long as you dont wear baggy pants, shirts with lifting crap on it, beanies etc. i wouldnt worry about it...just dont become a comical bodybuilder

I'D JUST TRY TO BE THE BEST GUY I COULD BE...

HONEST, FRIENDLY, ENGAGING.....THAT LAST THING ON YOUR MIND SHOULD BE HOW 'BIG' YOU ARE....IN FACT WHEN OTHERS BRING IT UP IT SHOULD SUPRISE YOU EVEN. THAT'S WHEN YOU KNOW YOU AREN'T BEING A MEATHEAD.

IF YOU AREN'T PRO BIG...THEN DON'T WORRY. THERE ARE A TON OF GUYS OUT THERE WHO ARE BIG.....JUST BE ONE OF THE BEST GUYS OUT THERE AND ALL THE REST OF THAT SHIT [YOUR WORRIES...ABOUT CHICS..HOW OTHERS PERCEIVE YOU, ETC...]WON'T MATTER ANYMORE.

BIG AND 50 CENTS BUYS YOU A CAN OF DIET PEPSI.

THIS IS FROM ONE TALL, GENERIC-BIG-GUY TO ANOTHER. YOU'LL DO OKAY, BROTHER! :)

It's normal to feel that way. I also don't like attention in public, even though bodybuilding kind of defeats that purpose as it definitely can get you noticed or at least alot of second glances.

It's just your personality though, not your size. I feel the same way now as when I was in the 250's-60's when I was younger and I'm not nearly that size now. I just don't like to be noticed, I like to blend in, so if I don't it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Certain types of girls will always be leery of you, but girls who workout or are comfortable with themselves won't care and will probably be more attracted to someone having a nice physique. I always liked the nerdy and gothic type girls (the kind you never ever see in a gym), so they were always very leery of why a guy who works out was interested in them.

I'd have to agree with Ouch in that you are probably wanting attention to some degree, but uncomfortable in receiving it.
