Was wondering what everyone does for injuries. Such as myself I have a minor tear in my pec done 3 years ago and can feel a tough spot... scar tissue. Recently did a good sprain or another small tear or collapsed nerve in the old leg.

Ive read a little on ART active release technique and ultrasound... both can break up scar tissue(ultra seemed to be better during the first couple weeks of injury)... breaking up scar tissue is supposed to allow more blood into the injured area, greater range of motion and greater stregth.

As far as injuries such as these and breaking up tissue from injecetions what does everyone feel is best? Deep tissue work? ART? Ultra or something else?

Also when this is done on an area with scar tissue do you think it best to rest that area for a week and start your training back slowly. I have not researched this topic enough and thought everyon such as Big A and others exp. in the field of injured bb could shed some light on this.

First I would stay away from ultrasound for an injury. The reason being that it can create more heat on the injured area than is necassary and this can sometimes be bad. A good deep tissue rub down is great, helps rejuvenate the body. While it's similair to ART, it is still different. I believe ART to be a great, if not the best tool for an injury. Something that you may also want to consider is accupuncture, it is wonderful. Yes you should give an area extra time to heal, it will allow the therapy to be more effective.
