Hey Guys wondering if you guys have ever dealt with this before. I hurt my shoulder about 2 weeks ago and it hurt to move at all, still hurts but mostly when i move it and there is resistance, opening doors weights ect, And when I lay on it while I sleep. The pain for the most part is on the top of my shoulder and part of the rear top, close to the edge of my shoulder. Have you guys Had an injury likes this> What did you do. From what I have read it sounds like a torn labrum. I am trying not to go to the doctor at least till the new years since I have not used any of my delectable yet and don't wait to pay a ton of money.

Yes. Tore my Labrum in Sep 01. Six months before I felt confident to start lifting. Took over a year before I felt anything close to what I did pre-injury.
I was fortunate to have good doctor. He was the team physician for the local pro football team.

NOZ, What did the injury feel like? What did you do for it?

I shredded mine about 6 or 8 years ago. My scope looked like cotton candy inside my shoulder. Took me about 9 months to rehab it before i trusted it and about a full year before i reached full strength. Now i also had 6 screws in my shoulder as i tore a tendon on the front and rear. Rehab was long and painful but in the end a labrum CANT heal without surgery.

When I tore it the injury felt like I had been stabbed in the back of my shoulder. I new it was serious as soon as it happened.
I couldn't do any kind of throwing or pushing motion without there being a sharp pain.
Doc put two clips in and 3 weeks later I started rehab. I think reasonably should expect to go one year before feeling like you can do things you used to.

Truthfully, even 18 months later I was still afraid of trying to throw a football more than 10 yards. The recovery took a lot longer than I expected.

Dealing with the rehab from my torn labrum right now. I had 6 anchors put in in march. I took a full 6 months off, and am 9 weeks back into training. Slowly getting more comfortable with training. Hopefully be back full go in another 6 weeks or so. As far as your pain, you may be having an issue with your subdeltoid bursa or Superior GlenoHumeral Lig or CoracoHumeral lig. Could be as simple as tendonitis (ligamentitis). Worst case is torn labrum. Are you having pain Deep into the joint at all?

I don't think it is tendonitis, I had that happen in my other shoulder, this pain can feel deeper at times and right where my collar bone and should socket meet on top is very sensitive. I hoping its something more simple, but resting for a few weeks and not much improvement.

MRI showed I had slap tears in both my labrums... the day after and for a few days I couldn't move my arms at all..

didn't really do much to rehab and didn't have surgery...they jst healed on their own:confused:

i tore my labrum years ago. the military never mri'd or xrayed. i had a job with insurance for about a year and got all that happy horse crap looked at. looks like hell inside of the joint. dr mentioned replacing the joint... i've just been dealing with it. I eat glucosamine, chondritin, msm, and cissius like its going out of style. its never really gotten better for me. some days i'm convinced its gotten worse. eventually i'll have the time and money to have it corrected, but until then i just kinda power through it. i avoid workouts that really hurt it. there's some days where its super sore after workouts others it isnt horrible.

I have a friend who says its sounds like a separated my ac joints, You guys ever deal with this one? he said he had similiar conditions, but he does not work out so he just did rehab with a doctor. He also said he noticed a bulge on his shoulder and I can't see anything like that, but I have big shoulders and he is a twig so might be hard to see i guess.

1981 I tore my acl in the navy. they scoped me and said nothings wrong. it kept dislocating and I was on medical hold for 8 months. I had a mental breakdown and they discharged me early. I went to the va for an exit scope, again, they said no damage. 2 years later a private orthopedic scoped me said my acl had torn years before due to the shrinkage of what was left. I never went back after them as I didn't know I could. its since been repaired and I will always have some arthritis and pain . I've been told to go back and get my disability. but I can still walk and work and I don't want to be classified as disabled. but you can for many years after you are discharged and it may be a small paycheck a month but free medical for life. fyi

I've priorly torn 2 rotator cuff muscles and now I have a torn labrum. I had the muscles repaired but I'm uncertain if I want to go back under the knife. The recovery was miserable.

thanks axxilist

im four days out from rotator surgery and hate hearing the hardships of the rehab. I fell on the ice yesterday nd landed on my shoulder that is getting the knife, I am in some serious pain now and really cannot wait where I was dreading it 3 day ago. ouch. good luck with your decision bro

Yes this sounds more like an AC issue. There are obviously many issues that can cause this, but my AC joints became extremely inflamed from doing real heavy decline bench press. Any update on your condition?

I had my rotator cuff done August 27th and just got back to work and the surgeon just gave me the OK to do very light training again. I am still doing PT 3 times a week to help with the upper range of motion. Good luck with the surgery bro. The recovery the first week is horrible as far as sleeping goes but it gets much better lol.

Torn the shit out of mine Didn't know it was so bad and lighten all my weights and it just kept getting worst. Went to my doctor and he said just stop working out and blah blah blah...I didn't workout for like 6 months and went back...couldn't even sleep on it but he continued saying to not workout for a year and it'll go away. Said fuck that and went to a specialist. $500 later and a month of PT now (did some PT, quiet due to school and the long distance, started back up) it is better but they told me no bench for now or basically dead lift and a lot of other things.

Been told to never do military press...pretty pissed that all this has happened and after 9 months I still can't do anything.

Mine took a year to regain all my strength/flexibility, and another year before the random pains went away. Shit just takes time.

First , learn to sleep on your back no time for side stress sleeping
sleeping on a coach or 2 pillow aside will help
memory foam matress wont hurt

Go see a posturologist for a vision test
will talk about that in my next video

then do a rib cage expension test will be in my next video also ,
see of serratus under tightness due to postural change

is labrum under lesion it do sound like surgery

5 important exercice
2 are on picture /

th asian guy do perfect round
rotation start at 2 inch then slowly increase , draw a imaginary circle with your hand this strenghten articular capsule , it look easy it extremely hard even for me..
.it call th greg johnson window washer actually been a lot with professional pitcher in MLB

second is a crac ( core recruitment co contraction )
Th side dumbell pic
side your trapt cant contract that mean you neck wil tend to move
you cant not have your neck moving doin so
that wil help the situation at your advandtage
you draw a imaginary line in a mirror in front of u n keep head completely straight
on side press dumbell
on shrug also well on one side shrug
even tho it tend for controversy i am a believer in magnetic insole for posturologist
Labrum lesion wil create lots of pain try willowbark n warm up
when pain feelin occur

with this exercice .. hope u get my frensglish
Instead of doing physio standard side rotator n rear delt rotators with cable

you use cable with one hand but instead of goin bi dimensional your going tri dimensional ( sprial/meridian) which explain more our state of th world
you pull from down with cable very light weight ,
Th difference is you start face palm facing you n while you extend you rotate entire arm , humerus n hand and specially hand going up

Floor to higher then your head on full extension

you rotate hand that on finishing rotation
th hand turn inward n face palm facing behind you

understand arm low / face palm toward you
finsih arm high / face palm behind you

this is a fair start

and dont forget always two side of th question
so you do th same all over gain
but arm up / palm facing you
finish
arm down / palm behind you

Dont jump on painkiller n dont fell like a victim either

it your challenge in this now

thk u

plz take note that if add rotation exercice
th elbow will be place at 70% degree / for a forearms extension of 30 degrees

your goal is too strenghten stability in range of motion

tore mine twice. went under the knife, and physical therapy was for about 3 months at a rehab clinic and another 3 months on my own before I could do anything more than 10 lbs. took 18 months to get back in the gym and i ws always afraid of tearing it again. 24 months after, I was pretty confident again. strength came back. the process sucks but it is necessary

What causes the labrum to tear? I'm trying to get a fire dept job in the next 2-3 years and they won't hire me if I get a shoulder Injury.
