I know most of us are focused on pure hypertrophy training but I bet a lot of you will appreciate this. Never seen it before. Looks like a perfect exercise for football players, especially lineman.
How cool. And just when i thought there is no more to be invented lol. Maybe its been around for awhile, I have never seen that.I know most of us are focused on pure hypertrophy training but I bet a lot of you will appreciate this. Never seen it before. Hammer Strength makes or used to make a line of what they called ‘ground based’ exercise equipment.I’ve seen that standing version, which seems a lot more intuitive and useful imo. But I’m far from an athletic trainer.
I was gonna say yeah the shoulders would be the rate limiting factor but the idea to use dumbbells in a hack squat might work decentlyOh, the old horizontal push press.
Why not just take a barbell and do the normal standing version.
Oh wait
Obviously the shoulders will be able to handle a lot less than the legs, and we want a full body exercise right?
Let’s bring some heavy dumbbells into the hack squat or leg press, do your rep with your legs and then push the weight.
Full body functional power brother
Yep, every now and then you can still find pieces like the jammer (think a standing HS incline press) at gyms more aimed at athletic performance.Hammer Strength makes or used to make a line of what they called ‘ground based’ exercise equipment.
I believe this is what I was thinking ofthe jammer
The resemblance is uncanny and the nick would fit perfectly for yaThat ain't me motherfucker!![]()
Thinking of the jammer? That just looks fun. I would feel kind of goofy using it in front of people though.
It reminds me of a machine at my high school and college gyms that you could do a very similar motion standing. Its kind of hard to describe but you could use the standing one with both arms and legs or switch which arm, leg or one side you want to mix it up with.
