? how many days a week

I've been going 4-5 days a week for past3 1/2 mo- feel like Ive made good progress- but talked to a couple of guys at the gym (they look like I want to someday-same age as me etc) and the one guy goes 5-6 x week with 1 two a day??

it all depends on your recovery, what works for you, etc. some have the genetics to be able to have more frequency in their workouts and still grow while others can use less frequency and do just as well.
 
We would need a whole lot more info about you to give any kind of useful advise.

Detailed training split
A sample day of your diet
Any supplements - OTC or otherwise
and Your Goals...
If this is too much to ask, then you are not serious about getting an accurate answer.
 
definately listen to your body. if you feel like doing a certain bodypart and have the energy to go all out - do it. also dont force yourelf to workout cause your on a 'schedule'. if today is chest day but your delts and chest are a bit sore and you feel very lethargic, skip it. dont train unless you can give it full intensity. maybe do some cardio or abs or calves so you dont feel like a loser for skipping it. just my thoughts....

also age makes a big difference. when i was in high school i could workout twice per day 6 days a week, doing each bodypart at least twice per week. if i tried that now i would have no connective tissue left in my body that wasnt destroyed!!!! i try to get each bodypart done once per week nowadays
