So my wife had her gallbladder removed about 4 weeks ago. she woke me up @ 6am and said she wanted to go to the ER cuz she was in pain. she had an idea it was her GB (she's a nurse)
she was extremely lucky that day because the surgeon on call was nothing less than spectacular. this guy was able to remove her GB athroscopically through just 1 incision in the bellybutton.
I was amazed! but anyway, she still has some discomfort and is really anxious to get back to doing cardio and eventually weight training. I guess i'm just wondering how long before she can get back into her normal routine? Doc said 4-6 weeks before she feels close to 100%. she still is very tired every day.

I had the same surgery about 15 years ago. She's very lucky. I have 4 incisions and have gotten hernias in two of them.
As far as doing cardio, I think she should go by how she feels and make sure to keep it lower intensity so that her CNS isn't taxed.
At about 3-4 weeks, she should be able to start light resistance. Taking it slow and I'd avoid exercises that put leverage on the torso(leg press, stiff legs, deads, squats, etc), Basically major compound exercises. Stick with machines and isolated exercises until she starts to feel 100%.
