So the past two months I haven't wanted to train at all. I am taking EQ and test at 750 each. I still go to the gym and been training like a bitch, plus I manage to duck the cardio machines. I've been dieting as well so that may be causing some of it but this is with every fiber of my body I don't even want to load up the weights to lift much less lift them. I pride myself on training hard but.got nothing. Anyone experience anything like this at any time in your.lifting career? What did you do to get back to training hard? I did try some delta nines and that picked me up for a week but then I am high all day and don't want to be and its makes me hungry enough to eat the whole house.

Take some time off the gym

Reevaluate why you’re doing it and what your goals are

Maybe set some new goals big and small

New training programme

Maybe new gym

Motivation can be hard to come by when it’s a 24/7 day in day out thing so it just comes down to discipline BUT unless this is your career if you’re not enjoying it don’t force it cause what’s the point

Do the above and see how you get on

This. Completely different style of training, new gym, etc. When I got sick of it all I did a few months of calesthenics. Got sick of that, did powerbuilding. Got bored with that, doing dc training. Eventually probably go back to a bro split. Imo we aren't pro bodybuilders...more important to enjoy this than gain or retain 1% more muscle...just keep the diet perfect, stay lean...as long as we are lean, low bf, healthy, not injured..having fun in the gym...life is good.

When is the last time you had a high carb day if cals are low?

Seems like you need to have a chat with yourself and decide on what you want. Being half assed doesn't get you to where you want to be, hard work does.

You admit that you are "training like a bitch" and "avoiding cardio machines". You can get back to it, or make continue to make excuses.

Try to revisit why you started this bb journey in the first place.

Was it to have a particular body and look a certain way, win some shows, etc..? If you're not there yet, you're not done and have work to do.

Like others said maybe a deload week could help?

Change up your excersise selections to keep it fresh, or maybe even split your bodyparts differently?

The most important thing is enjoying the training. It shouldn’t feel like a chore. If you’re not enjoying it you need to change something up, not sure if slamming edibles is really the solution here either

Agreed.

Find something that you are excited to do, day in day out....fuck get into Muay Thai, JJ, fucking even badminton or some shit. Time is precious so why engage in something that you do not like? Not to mention taking drugs that are solely for building muscle.

I was going to suggest JJ too. I would say try it for a month at least.

:ROFLMAO:

a few things I usually suggest, when guys ask me this, and that are not mutually exclusive.

1. Time off / time away from it all, trust me you'll be yearning for it sooner than you think

2. Re-evaluate goals for training, maybe you don't have any, and that is the problem, something the drives the means to an end. Often times just looking good is not enough to maintain the lifelong drive for some.

3. Try a new gym / with different equipment just to get some fresh sessions with a different feel.

4. Circling back to 2 in a way, try a new program. Try something like DC, Mountain dog, Fortitude, Myoreps. Sometimes just a new / novel stimulus can re light the fire.

5. Separate from 4, but in a similar vein, try something completely new or different. Underground strength coach, kettle bell training exclusively, Zach Evan Esh style (some of his older stuff) i.e. training with sand bags, slosh pipes, ditty bags filled with weight, rucking, anchor point training, or even consider a powerlifting program. Something that is totally different than you have ever done before, but is still training, and will keep you in shape and punch that ticket, but is just so different than the mundane box gym stuff.

forgot to add, how hard are you dieting, and for how long? Sometimes simply taking a break from dieting, and shift back to maintenance calories, or even if nothing else, shifting some cals away from protein, and into more carbs short term can get you back on the right track.

Whenever I feel like my motivation to train is dipping, I immediately assess fatigue/ sleep/ recovery/ stress, because I love to train. So usually this is a sign that something is off, time to see where there are recovery/ deload opportunities., etc.

I learned that because I’m usually hyper focused and would still drive myself to train and ignore that signal… and end up getting trashed and exhausted and the logbook would show no progress …

I cant believe im saying this... I 100% agree and think this point gets lost in the 'hardcore' world and guys burnout when they stop having fun and dont do things like you said to stay fresh.

Amen! I feel like when I start looking at my training sessions as something on my to do list....vs something im looking forward to all day while im at work...I need to make a change to what im doing.
