Training Twice a Day

The key thing is going to be sleep and diet. I used to do that in the summers while I was in college and I was natural. I would pick up about 5-10 lbs during the summer and end up losing half or more of it once I went back to college. I think it can work very well if you do it right. I was a lot younger than you when I did it though.

Is there any possible way to do your cardio 1st thing after waking up?
That may just lesson the load so you don't have to be in the gym for 2+ hours.

Well if you put it like that I do see your side meaning you're retired... There's no way I personally can manage working my fiancé bodybuilding w training twice a day I'm pre contest now and it's hard to keep up with thing and I'm n the gym 2 hours 2 and a half tops... Counting cardio. If I didn't have such a helping fiancé it would b rough but that's just my personal opinion
 
My personal experiences with double and triple split training have been phenomenal. I started nearly 2 years ago and kind of slowly incorporated it by just adding cardio in the morning and some light stuff before work (badass gym at the hospital about 500 ft from my dept so yea...that makes it very easy and plays a huge role in my adherence) and then started fully splitting my workouts into 2 and 3 daily sessions.
Usually one in the morning consisting of something along the lines of delt/triceps which lasts about 30 minutes of straight super-setting back and forth. I then return during my lunch break for another 30-45 minutes of something like back/abs and a 10 minute HIIT session. Again supersetting to maximize my time. There is a certain mindset that has to be developed especially when I'm rushing and short on time in the morning before work and have to go from zero-max effort in a 3 minute warmup at 5AM and again at lunch but as the previous posted said if you are trying to add size....it's awesome. Every time you train you are fresh and alert and able to use max poundage's and intensity. If you are dieting and looking for max caloric expenditure again you've got it. I can't believe more people never got into this type of training but I admit having a gym right there and being able to just slip back into scrubs and not a suit and tie once I return to work plays a major role.
Do beware, it certainly is easy to push beyond your normal volume and frequency not knowing how tired your body really is because each time you enter the gym you're essentially fresh and ready for more. Instinctive training is a must here.
