Just thought I would post up my recovery from this surgery if anyone is unfortunate enough to have to undergo it. I completely torn my tricep off the olecranon (tip of the elbow). A quick surgery was warranted. One month post surgery I tore it again. The revision surgery consisted of using a cadaver achilles tendon to reinforce the tricep and anchor it back into the elbow tip. 3 weeks in a splint. 4 more weeks in a hinged arm brace with range of motion increases each week. I'm now a little over 12 weeks post op and allowed to ease back into the gym. I've got all my ROM back thankfully. Doc said I'll continue to get stronger but the repair is about 75% healed at 12 weeks. He said I'll probably only gain about 75% of my prior strength back in that arm. I'm fine with that at almost 55 yo. It's a pretty rare injury from what he said. Stay healthy my friends.
