TRT & DHEA

I'm about to start TRT in a few days. I'm going through a legit program, but I still feel as though I need to be in the driver's seat rather than the doc.

Does anyone do bloodwork for DHEA (or anything else besides E2/Test) while on TRT? If so, should I be looking at DHEA, or DHEA-S?

I am trying to keep costs down, but also cover my bases with the bloodwork. Kind of a tight balancing act.

On a side note, it's worth it to pay extra for the sensitive estradiol (as opposed to the "normal") bloodwork, right?

I have had good luck with saliva tests from Diognostechs.

I have done blood and saliva from them before and had them come back pretty much identical.

The male hormone panel includes like 5-6 diff things including dhea,, dht, test, etc.

Male hormone panel, saliva= $105, dr. orders, they drops ship, real easy.

same blood work for test = $1500 and loss of much blood.

Yeah, I have used these guys a few times, and that is a helluva price for that test. But unfortunately, they don't have a cheap package with the sensitive estradiol or dhea.

If I am not mistaken you will only get "free" levels of hormones from saliva, so the testosterone you get will be free and not total, I will have to go back and check my tests though.

I just did the Diagnostechs expanded hormone panel for about $126 and it also includes LH and fsh!
