TRT + Fertility Protocol, and Few Questions

Hey All-

I've read (dissected) every fertility thread but a few questions remain and my situation seems a bit different than some others. Here is my quick summary: On trt since our first child 9 years ago (140mgs/week). Sperm count was 225M+ back then. Wife and I interested in having a 2nd so I did my last test shot May 22nd. Started HCG immediately, HMG in July and enclomiphene in September. Few home sperm tests and since August all coming in over 20M+. I really feel like crap now though and am dying to get back on trt. We started actually "trying" in August (but missed ovulation that month).

Current protocol is 75IU HMG 2-3 times per week, 1,500iu hcg EOD, and 18mgs enclomiphene/day. So my questions:

1. Is it nuts to go back on trt? I was thinking just the 10mgs/day or 20mgs EOD type of thing. I don't need much test to feel amazing yet I'd also imagine the longer I'm off trt the better.
2. I was going to continue my protocol. What I'm having trouble understanding is does/will enclomiphene do anything to support fertility if I'm taking exogenous test? In some of the fertility threads it mentions it "doesn't help fertility if you are taking test". I can't find any research on this at all.
3. My LH, FSH, levels are normal and my test level oscillates from 300 to 550...but I feel like total crap

I'm just curious on folks thoughts here as I'd hate to set myself back (being totally off trt for 5+ months feels like an accomplishment) or if you thought I should change my protocol. I'm 38 and my just turned 38 so we don't need this to happen tomorrow...but the sooner the better. My wife is super healthy very predictable cycle.

The wanting to get on trt has nothing to do with muscle, it's about actually wanting to have sex and having strong erections.

The fertility meds still work, they’re stimulating intra testicular testosterone production and hormones to produce sperm...

Much like your body doesn’t make Testosterone so you supplement with it, same thing, your body doesn’t really make LH/FSH anymore etc so you’re supplementing it with HCG/HMG and Enclomiphine

Thanks so much for the feedback. All that make total sense, I think I am just gun-shy after being off test so long I don't want to set myself back. I'm not sure if we are allowed to post or not but I got it from a place that rhymes with Cassino Suphylum or if we are playing wheel of fortune aXiXo aXXlXm. I haven't seen any sponsors really offer it here so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules.

I feel REALLY good on it. It is double the price but zero issues compared to regular clomid. No vision issues, no "down" feeling", nothing at all like that.

And I knew your name stood out for a reason, you posted a trt / fertility thread and your plan is one I noted when I created mine (I hopped off all test in May and I think your thread started in early May). I hopped off all test in my case because we were not 100% sure we wanted to try so we just sucked it up for 5 months hoping that would jumpstart sperm production even more.

That isn't work anymore now though....zero sex drive and viagra doesn't do anything. I need my 10mgs lol.

Hey mate anytime any of my friends has wanted to have a child, they come off run a protocol similar to yours and just bite the bullet during the process. Have you tried using Cialis combined with Alpha-Yohimbine? (Rauwolscine) for the erection issue? Drive wont be there but once you start engaging with your wife then he will come to life like no other and it could really really help the entire process.

Thanks yes sir that was my thought as well. It’s just such a struggle to do it 4 times EOD while she is ovulating when if I just had my normal sex drive we could easily have sex double that amount. Of course, to your point, it is a gamble because it could work out great or it could potential impact my count.

I was off for 90 days and on clomid and hcg and we conceived right at 90 days.

I went back on TRT, was actually off a short blast when we conceived our second child.

but being that you made it this far, I would just suck it up and get the job done then go back on

Thanks appreciate it! I think there is definitely validity to just staying off and playing it safe to protect my current count and keep it going.

Yea bro I was doing it for a while with TRT and I felt a difference, was supposed to get sperm checked again in October but haven’t been able to make the appointment.. My loads have been bigger and different color than usual, not sure if that means anything but I felt pretty damn fertile lol..

But funny thing is man, I was super into my girl, I’m 31 and she’s 34 and as I was going through the protocol I started noticing some things I didn’t like, and she was acting kinda like “aha I got him right where I want him” and our views on kids and raising them and life in general went 2 completely different ways, she was the one who wanted to control everything etc.. Just left a sour taste in my mouth.. And I NEVER wanted kids, honestly don’t really care for them. I’m still super young, I’m successful but have more plans and things I want to accomplish, there’s life goals and travels I want to accomplish etc and she was a downer on all of that, once she felt like she had me she shit on all of that and she basically wanted full priority.. She was supposed to get her IUD out now in October for us to start trying... I loved her hard and she did make me think twice about wanting kids some day, but I don’t need them right now is how I really feel. Especially with all that’s come to light.. And I think part of it was pressure from her being 34 and wanting them sooner rather than later....

Long story short, we split up and there’s no going back... I was blinded for a bit and realized how things were going and being manipulated (the story gets real deep) and I literally had a wake up call moment to call it off or possibly regret it for the rest of my life...

That’s a big fear of mine, having kids with someone and not just splitting up but not getting along and having complete opposite views on everything... I’m all good now though...

I do have a bunch of HCG/HMG left over that I’ll obviously keep for future with the right person, I was actually looking into stocking up on some of that Enclomiphine as well...

Wow that is wild stuff man but glad to hear you figured it out before having kids. And you are VERY young...31 seems like 18 to me lol. I just turned 39 a week ago and my wife will be 39 in about six months so it's sort of crunch time for us

A few thoughts since I'm currently off TRT and doing PCT attempting to regain my fertility too.

1) Have you tried upping the enclomiphene dose to 25mg daily? That's the normal dose I've seen recommended.

2) I posted a study of a guy on 100mg test cream daily (~10mg TC equivalent) and 50mg Clomid daily. His HPTA remained high functional and Clomid raised his serum levels an extra 400ng/dL. Took about a year to get it all worked out. The study is in the HRT forum.

3) I'd start with 5mg injections since that was Emeric's recommended dose with 1500mg Tribestan to regain fertility.

4) Proviron may be of use as well. Or Tribestan since it boosted my libido while on cycle.

Thanks so much really appreciate that input! I’ve seen many folks recommend tribestan and to be honest I’ve never even heard of it. I’m assuming it’s sort of like the “best” form of tribulus? Who makes it if you know by chance?

All good man I'm all for sharing info. There are actually some really accurate home sperm tests you can take. They will only show if count is over 20M though so it's not going to give you the full rundown but it's a great way to know if you are on the right track.

Alpha-Yohimibine IS a stimulant but has been shown in studies and in my personal experience as well as others to increase erectile strength and sensitivity very shortly after ingestion. I love a good 5-10mg dose of cialis, but if I combine the two, its a different level lol!
