Trying to have a baby

My wife and I have been trying to have a baby and its just not working is there a chance that my ignorance and abuse of AAS in my younger years could have left me sterile? My wife and I are very much in love and I would love to have a child i just hope I didnt ruin the chances any input would help thanks in advance.

You should have rebounded by now. But its very easy for any doc to tell if you have "potency" issues. All they need is a "sample" and a microscope. That would be my first step.

I haven't seen alot of proof that AAS will sterilize you. Anyone wanna point me in the direction of some scientific articles? Dexter Jackson has kids, tons of guys who have done ALOT more juice than me have kids. Just sayin... And Good luck bro!

Thanks bro and I get that its just when i was younger I did alot of gear never came off right crazy dosages I was stupid as anything givin the little knowledge that I have now. I guess the best thing is to get tested and cross my fingers.

I went through years of infertility treatments. I had endometrosis and my (now ex) husband couldn't produce sperm. One thing I can tell you is this takes time and it's like jumping over hurtles one at a time. It is really important to be supportive of each other the entire time. Notice the ex... the IF didn't help our marriage... it can put a lot of stress on a marriage. First thing is don't panic... they have really advanced in this area and they can do a lot to help people with all kinds of IF related problems get pregnant. The big question is how long have you two been trying?

Believe it or not, on average it takes a couple a 6 months to a year to get pregnant. If you've been trying for over a year, it's time to pay a visit to a specialist. Find a doctor who specializes in infertility treatments and get recommendations if you can. The doctor will guide you through several test for both you and your wife. This is the only way to determine what is going on. Just remember the doctor is there to help you, so try not to get to frustrated. Also find a good support group because it will be a very emotional time for your wife. Her hormones will be all over the place and most people have no real clue to what she (or you) are dealing with or feeling.

Do not listen to this...go see a damn doctor and stop listening to fools trying to guess at the multiple variables that could cause your issues. Putting her on anything will do nothing if your mechanical issues are the cause.

Both of you get checked then take steps to correct....otherwise you are just shooting in the dark (hehehehe...)

Clomid works great for ovulation especially if she isn't ovulating, but if her tubes are blocked it won't do any good. She will just be jacked up on clomid and very emotional wondering what is wrong with her and why she can't get pregnant.

One of the first test a good IF doctor will do is a tube test to make sure that there is no blockage along with ovulation test to see if she is ovulating. Don't put the cart before the horse.

Yes everyone should get checked first if you're really trying to have have a baby cause it sure doesn't hurt to know before even trying if your going to have issues. My personal opinion is if you two aren't tracking her cycle than you're just throwing the dice and hoping to get lucky. If you don't succeed one month then you have to wait an entire month to try again. A woman is only capable of getting pregnant for a couple maybe few days a month so timing is everything. I HIGHLY recommend the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility". It's super detailed on the whole tracking process. Me and my wife were psyching our self out before we even started thinking we'd have trouble because so many people do. The world we live in, the crap in our food, the toxins in the environment sure don't help but me and my wife read the book together and we got pregnant this past month after only 2 months of trying, she's 4 weeks pregnant now and we are ecstatic. Tracking is EVERYTHING. Sorry for rambling but I want to help you prevent more time wasted if thats the case. Good luck bro.
