Hey guys.....my bro is 19, in college. He's a big boy, 6'5", 300lbs. Our body types are a bit different, so I'm not sure that what works for me will necassarily for him. He's been lifting consistantly for five years...he's natural, and I've just kept telling him that he'd mature and the babyfat would come off rather rapidly......so far no luck, and he's becoming impatient. This is really important to him and he will put the work in, I just wanted to get some suggestions from you guys as well. His bodytype is probably 70/30 Endormorph/meso......not obese at all, and "strong like bull". This kid works really hard, he doesn't want to step on stage, he wants to be happy w/ the mirror, so let's help him out.

He's tried several diets, usually involving a lot of lean protein and lots of greens w/ clean carbs....potatoes, oats etc......I'm thinking his body is probably reacting to carbs differently than mine. Bodyfat's a concern for me too, but maybe not quite as much. Type II diabetes does run in the family....if that matters. Neither of us have it at the moment. I was thinking I should just increase his greens, up the fat and protein, and cut carbs pretty much altogether. Have him do cardio 2x daily for 30 minutes per session and keep on weight training like always. I'm thinking his bodyfat is probably somewhere around 25% give or take. Still looks like babyfat to me, but we need to get it burnt off now, it's time. We're also going to incorporate supplements. ECA, green tea, yohimbe, and I might get him some clen, I'm not sure yet.

We're not completely opposed to using DVD's......he's waited at my suggestion so far, but maybe a sky high test level would help him shed the fat. Seems to help me......we're open to all ideas.

Again, I'm posting here because his body's a tad different than mine and I wanted some alternative ideas to make sure I stear him right. He'll be reading this thread so if you have any additional questions just type em and he'll respond.

Biggest thing is find out how many calories he is currently taking to maintain his current weight and drop that by 500. Counting the calories is key! Don't just guess. If a 500 drop doesn't work then drop a couple hundred more off until the weight starts dropping.

ECA works great for me and helps me cut the fat. I find riding bike is the most efficient way of cutting fat for me because I can bike for a long time vs running where I get gassed very quickly. Might want to look into appetite suppressants too.

Cut the calories back, no soda not even diet, no drinks with sugar, increase the cardio when you can handle it, and eat 5 to 6 very small meals a day.

Hes in college... does he drink, if so, how often? does he make his own food or eat from the cafeteria?

I do drink, not really often 1 a month at absolute most and 5-10 drinks. Could be beer or liquor. I eat from the cafeteria 95% of the time.

My diet is roughly something like this on ave.

Meal 1 Omelet 5-6 eggs Banana, Apple or Wheat Toast
Meal 2 Protein Shake 1 scoop 25g protein
Meal 3 2 Chicken Breasts roughly 6-8 oz (their cuts are not consistent) 2 Hard-boiled eggs, 1 serving of greens (could be peas, green beans, mixed veg, broccoli, etc) If know greens to my liking side salad vinegar and oil dressing straight up oil.
Meal 4 Same as meal 2
Meal 5 Same as meal 3
Meal 6 Depends: protein shake or PP&J by this time the cafeteria is closed and i only have a store in the dorm with very limited healthy options.

This is an avg layout the Omelet and Chicken Breasts are always associated with those meals. Always two protein shakes as well, i try to eat every three hours sometimes due to class it might be 4 hours between a meal but then back down to three.

looks like you're not taking in enough protein in meal 1,2,4,6

Your brother is fat and 19 and you ARE NOT opposed to DVD's ....WOW. :banghead:

you probably need to get that out of your head immediately, quite possibly the stupidest thing especially if his only goal is to "lose weight." millions of people have lost weight and been absolutely fine without DVDs AND were much older.

thats beside the point....but right now, your idea for lean protein, high greens and fats and very low carbs is probably going to work. he needs to hit cardio though. i personally wouldnt start him on 30 mins twice a day though, once that stops working what will do you? your best bet is to start him on 30 mins 4-5 times a week and work up once that stops working. you have to ease your way into a drastic diet (especially when there is a significant amount of weight to cut off) or else you'll hit a plateau and have no idea what changes need to be made. just get him hitting the weights 4-5 times a week and have him hit cardio 4-5 times a week as well. THAT along with a good low carb diet WILL work.

i went from 295 to 230 after i finished playing college football. All i used was a low carb diet and ECA stack, thats it. no need for DVDs, no need for clen. stick to basics man.

I appreciate your input. Thank you. Look I'm not preaching to a bunch of high school kids to juice......I'm trying to help MY brother. That's why we're gathering opinions. The only ethical thing to say is.....wait a few years....I like the cardio advice though, that's good stuff.
