Two dozen whole eggs a day

We really should be thanking the medical community and government agencies for these results. Didn't they, just a few years ago, say it was okay to eat egg yolks and let us know the link between dietary and circulatory cholesterol wasn't 1:1 direct across the human population. Poor Harvard kid would likely have died if they didn't decide that for us. Geniuses and life savers. ;-)

Absolutely love Nick Norowitz work on metabolism. Incredibly intelligent dude that I hope to see continue shifting the paradigm alongside others in the space e.g., Dave Feldman, Ben Bikman, Dominic D’agostino.

I made 18 eggs, 1lb of bacon and 2 avocados yesterday for breakfast to share with my now pregnant wife…but 24 is quite a bit lol.

Thanks for sharing. Actually surprising that both his LDL and HDL values improved (wasn't expecting that)

High saturated fat intake can increase LDL and your total atherogenic load

Now your risk factors, individual health (infam, bp, metabolic health) will determine how bad that will be over long term

Worth looking at your risk factors + checking Lpa + checking apoB and particle size panel = Then deciding

All I know is that my cholesterol all went down from ceasing eating while eggs. So in other words, ymmv

Is it all saturated fats?

Also, is all LDL ‘bad’?

Poly and Mono unsaturated aren't the ones influencing LDL increase in comparison to saturated fats

I don't know the mechanism for why saturated fats do that, but we know that an increase in LDL will increase the likelihood of cross membrane transfer of these particles through the endothelium into your coronary arteries

Now you need endothelial dysfunction and then inflammation once those particles are inside the membrane to go through the foam cell creation process which is the beginning of coronary artery disease

But having a LDL of <70 greatly reduces plaque formation, Peter Attia (who is more aggressive than many lipidologists) targets an ApoB of 30 for patients with very high heart disease risk in family

Heart disease is a very poorly selected disease for humans from an evolution standpoint, it takes a long time and you've already procreated so there is no burden to select against it in Mother Nature. But it will kill a vast majority of people, especially since metabolic dysfunctions is as rampant as mental health issues in modern day society

The #1 dietary item that would spike my LDL was sugar and alcohol, AKA inflammation! I`m not a fan of these type of studies where all he eats is basically eggs to prove eggs won`t raise LDL. Can we do something a little more within reason? There is never one magic or evil item in the diet. But yes, dietary cholesterol has very little to do with blood levels of cholesterol.

Would this maybe have worked out differently if he was consuming higher carbs? It looks like he added in 60g carbs per day from fruit. But say he had upped it to 250g from various sources

Edit: somehow I missed the reply right above me. Essentially what I was I thinking.

This is great and I LOVE eating a ton of eggs, but according to the article most of the massive drop in LDL came when he added fruit to his diet.

Good for him, I'll have to give him a follow. More confirmation eating wholesome nutritious food and moving is a cheat code to be lean and healthy..no secrets or short cuts needed

I’m sure there are long term studies that show those populations with relatively high LDL lived a long life span. And LDL isn’t the demon it once was supposed to be. These days you can find a million studies and counter studies on all this stuff. Probably have a heart attack stressing about it. I tend to think eggs are up there as a super food to be honest

At one time I was consuming 36 whole eggs daily for over 18 months straight, 72 whole eggs every two days.
