I wouldn't be surprised if Werdum wasn't on some PED's because he just looked like he was on another level than Cain and honestly I don't think he is. People may point to ring rust for Cain, but he actually did come out pretty hard. Cain just ran out of gas and it didn't help the shots he was taking. Werdum was also taking a lot of shots and leg kicks, but it didn't seem to affect him. I don't think Cain has as much power as we think he did. He just uses volume to overwhelm his opponent and it didn't work this time. The submission was nothing he was dead tired and fell in to it taking Werdum down. This definitely makes the heavyweight division more interesting going forward.
Werdum has shown to have one of the best fight IQ's in the HW division. Ever since JDS walked through him years ago, Werdum changed himself. He and Mir have always had the best Jitsu at HW, but Werdum figured out how to craftily apply all other aspects of MMA to his game. He simply is an extremely good fighter while only excelling at one aspect.
Cain has got to figure out a way to keep healthy and keep consistent. Cain can beat any man on the planet on any day. I see this being another trilogy.
As for now I'd love to see Arlovski get the title shot. Let Cain take on Travis Browne
