UFC on FuelTV Munoz vs Weidman

Tomorrow night the UFC is offering a non pay per view card with the main even featuring now #2 ranked middleweight Mark Munoz against #8 ranked Chris Weidman. The implications of this fight could be big as many believe the winner will be the next to fight anderson silva. Munoz is 12-2 coming off of an injury while Weidman is 8-0 coming off of a unanimous decision against Damien Maia. A lot of you will not agree with me on this but Weidman is going to destroy Munoz tomorrow and I believe has the ability to beat Silva. His last fight against Maia was not all that impressive, but he took the fight on 11 days notice and lost 31 pounds during that time period, so who can blame the guy for not looking his best. I had the pleasure of being a college teammate of Weidman and I suggest you all tune in to watch because he will be the next big name at that weight class. Guy is unparalleled in athleticism and I cant wait for the fight tomorrow.

Sonnen doesnt agree.He was broadcasting and flat out said he deserves the title shot.To the OP, your boy looked outstanding!

Sonnen says a lot of things. Good thing he's not a matchmaker. Sure, he looked outstanding tonight but TBH, the only notable wins he's had was this one and a decision over Maia. He needs to be tested against the Bispings and Sonnens first. Even Hector Lombard would be a great next fight for Weidman. Look how long Jones was groomed before being given a shot.

Weidman is ready for silva, but i do think it makes sense to feed him one more opponent before silva for 2 reasons...1. he gets better with every fight and 2. he will destroy them in the same manner and quiet all the people saying he doesnt deserve the shot. To me the most logical opponent is bisbing. IMO would be the same result as last nights fight.

I think it's also important to get his name out there more and build a persona plus more fight experience will only help him not only win the belt but retain it, as well. But then again, they hyped the hell outta Brian Stann and well,.. y'know...

I say "fuck it" Let him have a title shot. Anderson is getting old and we won't see anything like him again. I get tired of these new guys getting hyped for months then smashed in a couple rounds only for the cycle to start again.

I saw the fight live...

Had I read this post before the fight I would have told you your an idiot. I guess I am the idiot. That guy is the real deal. I would love to see him beat up Silva. Sonnen laid out the blueprint... Now somebody just has to do it!
