Ughhhhh,,, car was stolen this weekend..

I went out Saturday night with a few friends, came out of the bar around 2:30am and much to my surprise my damn car was gone!!

I always leave my keys in the glovebox or center console because i have touch pad entry and I hate carrying my keys around with me. Bad idea looking back, but whatever it's too late now.

Has anyone been through this? I called the cops, filed a police report, might I add that I was pretty toasted sitting in the back of this cop car, he was pretty cool though. I talked with the insurance co. they will wait 30 days before taking any action in regards to paying off my car. I pray to god they dont find my car somewhere, I don't even want it back after some fuck heads were out joy riding my fu@#@#$# car..

Just looking for some opinions or suggestions!

Damn I'm sorry to hear that bro. I know it feels terrible to be in a situation like that - certainly a feeling of violation. Last fall my home was broken into and completly trashed. I felt an inner feeling of both disgust and emptiness, so I can easily relate. Good luck to you, everything will soon be back to normal.

thats bad, insurance people sometimes dont pay complete money of car but depends i hope yours will pay double
only for this reason whenever i buy a big car, i always get a tracker ( find & recovery ) in that. To spend a little saves alot, even if someone asks you to handover car on gun point just tell them it has tracker in it and they'll go away.
Tracker can be shifted from one car to another too, you buy one for 1000$ and then pay yearly fee and get it shifted to any car. Next time get a tracker in your car. So you can leave your car anywhere and they'll recover.

I had a good buzz and would have rather spent it with my friends then in the back of a cop car, that's all I meant.

Well I know I have really good insurance, including gap coverage. The adjuster said they would pay out actual cash value. It's pretty similar to a blue book. I think I owe roughly 3k under what the blue book is so hopefully I come out ok.

You know.....The bar scene is a funny thing isn't it? How many bars have you been to where there are cops standing at the doors or waiting out in the parking lot when the bar shuts down? They pretty much watch everyone get in their cars and leave. Their not exactly handing out tickets one after the other. lol.

|---[\\\\]>--------- i do feel bad about what happened to your car. you totally feel violated when s'one steals or breaks into your property. i know b/c just last night some fuck wad kicked down my side garage door trying to get to my car im sure.....but i have the best alarm around and it has a sensor in and out of the car so it sounds even when you get 5 ft from it. it chirped and they ran...left my fucking door kicked open and the surrounding wood around the door busted!

Maybe Big Dub was right...you may not have been totally wasted but impaired enough NOT to drive and god was telling you s'thing....maybe it did save your or s'one else that night.

Most insurance companies will require a 30-day wait on a claim, ONLY if the cops never recover your car.
If they recover your vehicle then it will be a damage claim, and it should get processed right away.
Sucks, I know. I had my car stolen in 2002, and it was practically brand new. Some a-holes took it for a joyride and F-cked it up bad.

The blue book is shit...Not sure what insurance company you have But I know most of them (like State Farm) Use the NADA.
Look up the NADA and see what it is, should be able to do it online.

A Buddy Of Mine had his truck stolen up there.....Some Bum thast was working with him asked to use his truck to run to the store for break...Never came back! They found it 3 weeks later in Fl,he was sleeping in it.

Your PimpMobile probably went to the Chopshop though..I doubt they find it...maybe though.

Hey thanks for all the comments guy's. Everyone seems to be pretty much on board with what the insurance company is saying.

Apparently they use an actual cash value, its similar to a blue book. I think my car blue books for about 3k more than I owe, fortunately I put a little money down when I bought it.

BBA, sorry to hear about your garage door that sucks man! you are right, maybe getting my car stolen was a god send, you never know what could happen!

JT, I had a lincoln ls, it was black w/ tinted windows, plus i just got a 10$ car wash that day about 3 hours earlier so it was nice and shiny, lol. I was laughing about that in my head thinking, damn I should have just kept the son of a bitch dirty and it would still be sitting there..

Raj, I know what you are saying man! Where I live is about 40 minutes south of the city, I could leave my keys in my car with no concerns. Too bad its not that way all over anymore.. Too many damn theives.

If it's available in your location, and you go out and park your ride, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I know a woman who got her vehicle recovered in minutes with Lojack. Insurance companies sometimes offer a discount as well.

I have a nice custom bike that I'd like to ride when I go out. I won't, b/c I've had bikes stolen and never recovered, or recovered trashed out. I'm getting LoJack this summer so I can enjoy my ride more.

HEY BRO I HATE TO BREAK IT TO YA BUT SOMETIMES THEY DONT CONSIDER IT THEFT IF THE KEYS ARE LEFT IN THE CAR, HAPPENED TO ONE OF MY FRIENDS ONE TIME. I FORGET THE TECHNICAL EXPLANATION THEY GAVE HIM, BUT ITS TECHNICALLY NOT STEALING IF THE KEYS ARE IN IT AND THEY DONT DISMANTLE OR BREAK ANYTING. I HAD MY CAR STOLEN 5 YEARS AGO AND GO IT BACK. DIDNT GET SHT FROM INSURANCE AND THE COPS DIDNT GIVA FUCK. HAD VISIBLE GREASE FINGER PRINTS ALL OVER IT TOO.
