Hey guys,
I recently had surgery, and as I have had a self-admitted problem with full on opiates during my teenage years, I requested I not be prescribed the usual vicodin, etc. Instead, I was given ultram, which apparently acts on the opiate receptor but does not give the euphoria that full on opiates do.
My question is, does anyone have any personal experience with ultram and gains, or even any studies that show it affecting protein synthesis? I know acetaminophen has been shown to decrease protein synthesis, and there is speculation that opiates do as well to a lesser degree, but ultram is a grey area that I can't find too much info on. I'm cutting right now and would like to be able to retain as much muscle mass as possible, so I don't want the ultram to lessen into that.
