I had the opportunity to watch both the UFC and Affliction events tonight. To say that the matches were highlight filled and intense is an understatement.
Silva dominated Irvin with a 1st round KO
Rory Markham won via KO (cro-cop[ish] head kick)
Frank Edgar and Hermes Franca fought a hard-nosed fight with Edgar winning via unanimous decision.
Kevin Burns beat Anthony Johnson via eyepoke (must have hurt like hell - half his finger disappeared).
Arlovski returned to his old form and handed Rothwell a beating for 3 rounds.
Josh Barnett laid Pedro Rizzo out with a perfect left hook to win via KO.
Fedor silenced any remaining critics by demolishing Tim Sylvia in 36 seconds (the fight ended by submission - rear choke).
All in all a great night for MMA. Affliction produced a flawless event with a stacked card that delivered the goods. Can't wait to see the next card.
Oh yes...and Anderson Silva is a true badass!
