I don’t have enough post history for the blood work forum.
I’m curious here and think this is nothing more than an electrolyte imbalance. It’s it possible to have said balance even if labs are all in normal range.
I’ve been symptomatic — light headed, woozy, just generally not feeling 100%, I definitely think it might be a potassium imbalance given it comes in waves some days are worse than others but overall hasn’t completely resolved in the last couple weeks.
Historically all of my lab panels have been in range, but my question is, just cause it’s “in range could it still be sub optimal?
Take for example my potassium - it’s 3.6 right now per last weeks lab. Well, every test prior over the last several years averaged 4.3 with a range of 4.0-4.6, the normal values at most labs are ~3.5-5.3.
Does this drop suggest potassium could be to blame? Sodium alone, or in disproportionate amounts makes me feel worse I would say.
It’s been tough to nail this down and the physician says “you’re not dehydrated, this isn’t electrolytes, I don’t have any real concerns take some Tylenol”
Drinking pure water doesn’t do anything, my BP is fine and it’s not blood sugar related either.
I am fairly confident it’s an electrolyte imbalance where they are at suboptimal levels relative to each other. Sodium was normal and in line with past blood work. Calcium was slightly lower.
If I consume dietary potassium that got me back to 4.3ish range, would that likely make me feel better?
How long should I give it to improve?
