I realized I was in the same situation as I neared 40. My mobility was shit and injuries were starting to pile up even though my blood work was great. I think most people at some point have to sit down and make the decision to either maintain the lifestyle or change it up. I opted for the latter. After years of bitching I took the wife’s advice and started doing yoga and changed up my cardio from stationary bike and ellipticals to the HIITMILL, hiking, and rec league basketball. It’s cost me about 20lbs but overall I feel way healthier and have way less aches and pains. other than freak injuries, I’ve stayed out of the doctors office too.
