I understand what you are saying, my one main problem with all these theological books is they have been adulterated over the centuries by people re-writing them and miss interpreting or adding their own interpretation to the original message that was being conveyed by the original author. At least the teaching of P. Yogananda have only been around for the last few decades and have been kept in tacked (for the most part). I don't really care to read any of the teachings from any of the devotees of P. Yogananda because they never resonate with me. When I was first taken to the meditation garden on top of the bluff overlooking the ocean, I had an experience I will never forget. When I read any of P. Yogananda's teachings I get an intuitive connection. Unfortunately, life circumstances drew me in a different direction, but have been thinking about re-visiting what Yogananda had to say.

Interesting fact about Steve Jobs, did not know this. P. Yogananda had a big influence on a lot of different people and groups, from the Movie "The Secret" to "What the Bleep Do we Know" and Bob Proctor (who I've been listening to lately on audio book), plus many more influential people. Right there with you about devotees, I don't connect with them because they get to wrapped up in the smoke show and don't pay attention to the true message being conveyed to them.

The star of Magazine Dreams, Jonathan Majors, was arrested over the weekend for domestic violence - https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/25/us/jonathan-majors-arrest-new-york/index.html

Searchlight has planned to release the film in theaters in December but with the content of the movie and this arrest I wouldn't be surprised if it gets canned indefinitely. Nothing official has been put out yet.

For those interest in Magazine Dreams, here's where things stand today.

In October 2023 the film was shelved indefinitely due to Jonathan Majors' arrest and the other accusations against him that came out.

In December 2023, after Majors was convicted, it was said that Searchlight was 'unlikely' to release the film.

In January 2024 it came out that Searchlight gave the rights to the film back to the filmmakers so they could shop it to other distributor.

I think it's unlikely the movie is ever released due to the big fall Majors took. If it does get released theatrically I expect it to be very limited, probably in just independent theaters. I think a streaming release on a lesser know streaming service is more likely.

That’s insane to me. They invested all this money in the production - just fucking release it on a streamer if you’re that nervous about investing more in theatrical. There’s no such thing as bad publicity.
