Using a wheel for abs

I personally use a wheel and do not feel it is a gimmick by any means....The wheel has been around for years and used tons in the boxing world. It not only helps the abs but the back and shoulders etc....yes you have to be careful and even a crunch can wreck your back, hell you know how many people still put hands behind head to do sit ups? I think this is more stress on the neck and back then the wheel.

If you decide to try it remember it is just another tool and you need to start slow and controlled and believe me only do a few because it will hurt if you over do it....

I use it three times a week between sets, really keeps things pumping
 
I have short limbs, so I had to switch to doing my ab wheels from standing to make them challenging. Unfortunately, this put an inordinate amount of strain on my hip flexors. Now, I only do them after I've prefatigued with crunches, situps, leg raises, or what have you. I will say this though, I've never been as sore through my core as the first few times I used the ab wheel, the stretch and nature of the contraction can't be replicated.
