Varicose Veins...and circulation issues? removal?

I've got varicose veins on both calves, I've had them for a few years, they've never hurt in and around where they are. I asked my family doctor about them when they first came up and he said they're harmless just cosmetic. As they didn't hurt I didn't really follow up beyond that but as of the last couple years i've had leg issues but higher up in my legs not calves. Mainly one side but my legs will periodically ache and and my hamstring will feel like its on the verge of cramping but it never does, just feels twitchy and then other times extremely pumped and I limp around for a bit and then it passes, makes leg days hell. I've asked my doc about my legs and we've tried meds, muscle relaxants mainly. I've worked with chiros, pt's, done graston/art and everybody tells me they can fix it and that's it just scar tissue, improper form on some leg exercises and on and on but nothing has resolved it, ive played with endless electrolytes, stretching, foam rollers, no success so Im wondering if it can be circulation related. It got me thinking back to the varicose veins as that can alter blood flow. Has anybody had similar symptoms or circulation issues because of varicose veins? Or what issues did you feel from your varicose veins. How did you get them removed and did it make a difference? I don't trust my gp very much but he's good about sending me to specialists as I request so I'm going back in to see him tmw, I read you want to see a vascular surgeon about them so I was going to ask for a referral but thought I'd see if anybody had any experience with vv and if my situation sounded at all familiar?

I have them in both legs, the left worse than the right. I have had laser surgery on the left once and need to do it on another vein in that leg. The only symptoms I get is my leg will ache and the area around the worst vein will itch bady.

thank you! I haven't experienced any itch but the aches are what bug the hell out of me. Did you get more veins after the initial surgery is that why you have to do it again? did the surgery make a difference when you had it done for the ache? did you choose the laser option? Here in Canada, sclerotherapy is covered but anything else is out of pocket so trying to decide my best course of action. Was laser pain free for the most part, recovery straight forward?

I gear mixed messages with sclerotherapy being better.
I'm not sure though...
I see Groupon things all the time for laser vein stuff. I'm tempted to try it, I have these on my left ass cheek.

Seek a Vascular specialist. I had a few removed by just collapsing vien. Simple procedure that takes less than 30 minutes. Only have to stay away from weights about 2 weeks. They just take a needle and put some stuff in vein to collapse it. It is pretty painless.

The laser surgery was my doctors choice. It only took about 30 minutes and recovery was quick. My leg had to be wrapped for 24hrs then back to normal. I only experienced minor discomfort for a couple days. Also yes I got another bad one a couple years after the first .

thanks, I asked my gp for referral so I'll wait to hear from the Vascular surgeons office for my appointment. Thanks

Did you experience any sides pre surgery from the veins? if so what and did they resolve completely after?

Initially you will seek black streaks and they will be hard. It goes away though.
