Venting cause Im bummed Tax Refund

Got married last year and so I filled jointly with my wife.
Thought I was gonna be getting back 10K
Today I found out the IRS took it and applied it to her debt.
sooooooo freaking bummed now.

Gotta go see tax guy today a bout this.
They said something about filing some paper saying Im not responsible for her debt, but I dont know what good that does since its a joint return.
I admit I dont know much about this stuff so maybe there will be a happy ending

i knew she had a debt, but she was under the impression it was a lot smaller.
To be honest she doesnt pay attention to shit. She had info from state and federal mixed up. I just went through it and im like hey this has nothing to do with the Federal, this all state information!!! arghhhhh
I have a bad feeling she may owe the state too.
I'll figure this all out today, but my 10k refund at this point is looking like its gonana be more like 1.5k if im lucky

I thought this refund would help put the money back in my account for our trip to hawaii this week, a new bed, and a little money back in my account that Ive gone through.

I need a couple hundred drinks right now..

we have two houses for deductions so that and the fact that she had no income last year made it so I was gonna get a big chunk of change back.
I cant help but laugh a little now. FML hahaha

can she qualify to have it written down? Most likely she owes because of being self employed? File a reconsideration and re-file with proper deductions.

IRS filed for me for 3 years said I owed 34k. I was 1099 and never filed for 2005 2006 2007. First 2 yrs married with my wife they took our returns. I just got shit straight with attorney and re-filed, instead of letting the IRS file for me... We got back 7k!! I paid nothing outta the 34k. This year we are getting back almost 5k after paying in NOTHING!! System is so fucked but if their writing checks I`ll take one sir.
