Very intelligent but have a criminal history

I had deferred on a felony steroid charge. Completed and was discharged. After 5 years I had my file sealed and it removed from the data bases. Cost about 1500 or so, and took about 10 months from start to finish to do.

actually bro you do, every interview ive been on has asked me have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that hasent been expunged ,which I think sucks ,felonies ok, but misdemeanors come on, you can buy a firearm with a misdemeanor but getting a job, it sucks and I have neither on my record, but I understand now why some people cant steer clear of crimes, they cant get a job ,big problem

Actually in some states you can't buy a gun with a misdemeanor that carries a sentence with a max of 5 years or more.

I have a few misdemeanors myself, they don't hold me back in the field I'm in so I don't see a need to expunge them or anything but something you may want to consider is getting a certificate of rehabilitation. Not sure if all states do them but I know they have them in Jersey- you'll still have a record but at least you'll be able to show a prospective employer that the state feels you've turned your life around, not great but better than nothing and cheaper than going through the expungement process

I was worked whith some guy, who served time in prison for murder. He killed a man who beat his sister. When he was released from prison, he lost his home and it was very hard for him to find a job. But in the end, he went to work as a loader at the construction site
