I agree, Tonight wasn't so much about Ronnie Vs. Jay, it was Ronnie Vs Haney. That was the pre-determined decision that was made before the Mr. O started tonight.

I am a little sick of the huge guts though, I think dexter looked awesome. A few guys tonight had stomachs out of control, Dennis James comes to mind, even branch and J jackson came in with bigger waist.

Dex's lil beer belly got bigger this year, and Ronnies waist actually got noticeably smaller.

There was no one in that contest except ronnie and jay that were even close to the top 2 placings.

I really wasn't impressed at all with vic or dex, neither improved at all. I was however impressed when i saw melvin, he has, and looks better than both vic and dex pu together.

Thats a funny statement comming from Vic Richards. He is a mass monster that never came in cut. I think he actually only competed in one contest to get his pro card and then never competed again. He had a good size gut if I remember correctly. LOL. Anyways, if wiast and gut size were all that determined Mr O, then some natty guys would smoke everyone. Size obviously plays a major roll at this level or we would have a contest with 4000 competitors. How the hell would you eliminate anyone? Then it would come down to who is most cut, and guys would be dropping dead on stage from dehydration and over use of diuretics. I don't know if thats they way bodybuilding wants to go.

I am probably wrong but wasnt shawn ray the last one who could do a zane like vaccuum pose? Maybe Melvin can. The next huge guy to do that should be the next Mr. O.

My 10 year old cousin can do a vaccume. Maybe he should be the next Mr O? He'll just have to add on about 200 lbs and its a sure bet.

I think it's going to swing back to that type of look. It's more appealing, looks good in clothes, and is aesthetically pleasing. (Why the fuck Ronnie sqeezes into his girl's tights or stripper outfit) It will take some time to migrate however. I think it's a plus as it will be a more healthy for the competitors. As I said it will take some time, but we're on our way. In the end, huge isn't always better or we would be pushing for people like Greg Kovacs.

If bodybuilding were about big lats and a trim waist then Dexter would have been crowned Mr Olympia a long time ago with Melvin Anthony and Richard Jones in the 2 and 3 spots. Since bodybuilding is not just about that category, Dexter finds himself in 4th place, because other things matter like having huge arms and a set of legs and huge chest etc.

BTW, Phil carried the positive look, without the negative, and I know him personally to the point that he would never, ever allow himself to have the bloated gut. VanderV, on the other hand shows an amazing physique also, as he keeps the modeling look along with having an incredible muscle mass. 2 different looks, but both know where they wanted to be. These guys are nothing short of lucky to have the parents that they have. Not to mention both of their faces, which in all my time here I have not heard much about this aspect. (This mentioned from my little wifey) They have it all as far as aesthetics are concerned. To put it into perspective, I have good genetics at over 6 ft., but these guys are above the norm.

I see DJ on a daily basis, where in the hell you get beer belly from? I am curious because I have yet to see him with one, even in the off season. Please advise. None of the pictures I have seen, nor during the contest, did I see him display a distended belly.
