voice typing

Does anybody know anything about the voice recognition systems for computers. I have a shit load of work I have yet to turn in and almost all of it has to be typed. Once of my teachers suggested this program that types all the information you tell it to. It's only about $60 so it would be well worth it.

I tried one years ago, and you had to teach it the way you spoke, and once you went through that LENGTHY process, you had to talk very slowly and clearly or it would always fuck the words up. Kerzweil (sp?) voice I think it was called.

It takes hours to train it and its pretty slow..

The time it takes to "train" the software is probably more than it would take you to type the content.

There are cheap typist services available almost anywhere, check the Yellow Pages. Something like .27 cents a word.

It was Datacopy Kurzweil, the software. Ahead of it's time. IBM's ViaVoice is the current gold standard.

along the same lines...I would check to see if your school has a service that provides someone to type for those not able to. Shit, when I was in college my girl was a statistics tutor, she used to take somee people's tests practiacally. Or hunt and peck with one hand, never underestimate the power of the handicapped!
