Wal-mart chicken and beef

i did not read the whole thread ,

for those that want to know about ground beef i can tell you this ,

walmart which has commodity ground beef is pretty nasty.

what your getting when buying commodity beef is all the scraps ….

very nasty process, there are harsh chemicals used to remove the meat from the bones… also lips, ass holes , and scull meat.

Sad but true

Sounds delicious! Yes, I am kidding....Walmart's chicken does not taste real to me, it tastes like rib meat. Disgusting!

I saved a website someone posted where you can find grass fed farmers and local farmers markets in your hometown. I can hardly wait to check it out next weekend. Also, getting beef from a friend from school which is not but 20 mins away. I should have been thinking like this years ago.

On another not, anyone try skinnybeef? just wondering cause I saw it being promoted by a guy for a while now.

Can u share the link or PM me bro? Would be interested to know to check out. Farmers markets I've been to locally is all fruits and veggies, no meat.

Have you only feed corn? I've never raised cows, but from what ive read and talked to farmers...they are more sensitive than horses. And in the winter we had to give horses hay with grain or they would get the same infections. Cattle are not given hay when finished.
Yes, we fed corn only for 90 days, did it for years, for our own beef. Never saw them getting sick, but totally different conditions, and no telling what additives are being used in the commercial feedlots. I am going to start grass finishing organic beef, the market is HUGE for this stuff, but i have some other things to do first.

No doubt cattle are designed to eat grass, so when a cow is shipped 1500 miles, packed in a cattle car, then put in a very restricted and very unsanitary conditions, which will result in more stress, sure, i can see why antibiotics would be used on a very regular basis. This results in a basically non healthy cow being slaughtered, and Wal Mart's suppliers are known for cutting every corner, because Wal Mart is like dealing with Lucifer, so at Wal Mart, you're getting the worst of a sick cow. So no thanks Wal Mart, i'll stick with venison or locally produced beef.

$25 per meal is a bit much.
local guy here is selling organic free range chickens for $5.99 a lb, LIVE WEIGHT!! That's $30 a chicken! I need to be raising those damn things.

1lb of frozen chicken breast for $17.99, ouch!

I don't know much about those links, you should be able to put in your zip code and find farms near you. I just thought it might be useful to somebody. I buy grass fed ground beef for $4 a lb and natural locally farm raised chicken for $3 a lb. I can get a whole 1/4 really cheap. Usually at most meat markets they will cut a whole 1/4 for pretty cheap.
