Hey People, Well I heared a little about this product but no first hand experience myself. Can some of you share your experience about what it does and times taken, pre workout, post workout, days off ? I know what I have read but first hand exp. is always best. Thanks

It's a carbohydrate that is quickly absorbed (faster than dextrose) so it will replenish muscle glycogen faster. Doesn't make you feel as full or bloated as most PWO carb sources. Also apparently doesn't spike insulin so would be considered a lower GI source however due to it's molecular weight that's why it so quickly absorbed.

I would use 1st thing in the morning to replenish glycogen and PWO or possibly for carb-up days.

Justin Harris has a great explaination on his podcast at MD if you want to take a listen...makes much more sense than my explaination.

I use it in the offseason and have seen good results with it.

True Protein

If you like, you could also point your browser to Trueprotein.com

You can search for WM in the forums and find a lot of info there as well. As an alternative Swedish Oat Starch is there, and some have found that to be just as good a product or better, pending their response to a corn based vs. Oat based digestion.

I have good results PWO, some say 5000 times quicker uptake into muscles than dextrose.

I have been using for a while now i will have it sometimes pre and post but usually just post , I personally like IDSs stuff the best .

You guys are all wrong. You are quoting what Vitargo does. There is no science behind Waxymaize and the truth is now coming out about it. Dextrose is much better and cheaper.
Vitargo is great, but expensive.

WaxyMaize is a marketing scheme and a rip off. I'm surprised at you guys for not being up to date on this.

Show some research to back up your statements please.

-He is right the scientific sources people use to support WM are actually using vitagro.

-But there is scientific proof about what happens when low molecular weight substance enters your intestines, and WM had an extremely low molecular wight.

have to generally agree. though not necessarily that waximaize has no benefits, just that they are not at all what is claimed.

I have used both and would say they both the same. waxy maise far beter PWO carn source thn dextrose.

To step in for a moment...the test that have been done have not been done with Vartigo, but with the WM product. They are similar products...but not the same. WM is an excellent product, and if you were to look into the feed back at True Protein or IM/DC you would see that many, including me would call it far from bunk.

I believe Justin Harris has some insight to the product...but not positive. Like anything else in the supplement world...to each his own.

Justin Harris praises waximaize in his MD podcast and explains how beneficial it is and superior to dextrose in replenishing glycogen stores.

I should clarify...you are correct...after re-reading my post, and stating "not positive", what I meant was I wasn't positive if Justin had something out there about WM, or if I was thinking of someone else.

Take care...and thanks for the follow through!

Razor is a very intelligent guy that I strive to learn from. However, I am the one who sent/posted the article about waxy being bullshit to his site. Then he posted to Rx.

All of vitargo's 'scientific' claims are really that/those of Vitargo. Guess what spikes insulin higher, quicker (better) than Waxy maize?! Dextrose....and or...white bread! Sorry to break it to you guys.

I'm not here to debate it's not worth it.

But in the study that wasn't done by the Vitagro company it's self they looked at glycogen not insulin spike. And the one comparing it to dextrose and bread were sponsored by the Vitagro company - so of course you can trust those.

Exactly! It's not about the insulin spike...waxi is a low GI and won't spike insulin, it doesn't claim that. It claims due to its low molecular weight that it's quickly absorbed to replenish muscle glycogen.

So would you guys toss in the WM with your protein shake PWO or take the WM first, then later on the protein shake?
