it's one or a combination of the following:

1. a rebellion of sorts (like women date men to get back at their fathers)

2. to be different/attract attention

3. midlife crisis

4. there's always the off chance that they actually like them but these are not the norm, usually it's some sort of statement

I think it’s just a personal preference thing. I don’t see it being much different then a male doctor or business man getting a half sleeve. Actually it makes more sense for a wealthy woman to get tatted as oppose to a woman who is struggling and depends on getting hired by an employer to make it in life. A wealthy woman doesn’t have to be concerned how other people may judge her because she’s already made it.

I have 3 tats and dated a well off artist with full tats, including some on the face. They tend to be crazy af and if not they love to gawk at men with better tats. Many also like the long beard. Its a "this is my type, if you fit and are stable we can make this work"

Just because you may know a couple of even several wealthy tatted women, does not mean it's more common than the contrary.

As someone that grew up in a wealthy family (and knows allot of wealthy women) I'm actually confused that your correlating the two.
