I was in the shower this morning looking at my wife’s shampoo shelf, saw the bottle below and thought:
I wonder how much I’d have to drink to hit my protein and carb macros for the day?

That is a wierd thought, I was having one myself but much less weird

When I put a whole rack of chicken in the oven and bake it then keep it in the fridge and eat throughout the week it bloats me

But when I just cook them individually in a pan with coconut oil and eat right after it digests fine..lol

That’s because reheating food from your fridge can change its composition when reheated. Rice that has been cooked and reheated for instance has a lot of bacteria as well as developing resistant starches. Also…..wanting to be a bodybuilder in and of itself is kind of a weird thought F330A38C-DC04-4E2A-B706-1FF6DF77C910.png

This makes sense and is constant with what I've noticed, never had trouble digesting chicken until I baked and reheated it.

You’re better off cooking it fresh, or eating it cold

I notice a big difference in how I cook it as well
If I reheat baked or grilled chicken if does not digest as easy , but reheating shredded crockpot chicken doesn't bother me at all. We boiled a few hundred pounds of chicken a couple weeks ago to shred and make "BBQ pulled chicken" for a fundraiser and it came out great (Boiled in chicken base) so I might try that at the house.

I've found that reheated ground beef gives me god awful gas but eaten fresh it's fine , ground turkey didn't make any difference.

This shit is all too much. I do what is easiest for me and that's cooking and reheating. It doesn't cause me problems but if it did I'd stop eating that food entirely. I'm not turning my life upside down for the most optimal conditions. Today's world fucking sucks. There's apparently a problem with everything and nothing is simple.

That's not an attack on anyone who posted above. I'm just saying in general that it seems everything we do in anything (not just bodybuilding, in life) is wrong despite people being fine doing it said way for decades before.

The guy noticed a problem and someone gave him a legitimate explanation for it. I agree with what you’re saying but this instance wasn’t what you’re making it out to be…

Histamine increases in cooked foods.

I can think of better ways to give my wife a protein Fusion! ;)

"Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are harmful compounds that are formed when protein or fat combine with sugar in the bloodstream. This process is called glycation ( 2 ). AGEs can also form in foods."

AGEs will happen even if foods are cooked at a low temperature of 150 degrees.

This is making raw eggs sound more and more healthy! Maybe I was onto something in high school in the 80s. I saw Rocky Balboa do it.

I wonder too, how does microwaving compare to baking and cooking in a pan? Is it just a factor of the temperature it's cooked at or is the method that the heat is delivered a big factor?

Well I can't eat left over food from the day before. It messes me up. Intestines problems. When I use to complete it was harder for me than the average competitor. Because I had to cook my meals and eat it
I couldn't cook for the entire week

supposedly, microwaved food is altered in a negative way, in that it destroys the food on a molecular level, beyond typical denaturing of proteins, etc. and actually makes the food item toxic and detrimental to one's health

I beleive the Russians were onto this fact way back when microwaves became all the rage, and they subsequently outlawed them in their country

they're only good for boiling water, really

I just thought about how I'm out of sliced chicken breast to put on My peanut butter sandwiches(which folk find weird/bodybuilderish) lol

You can't irradiate your meals with a blast of microwave radiation and expect the chemical composition not to change. Even though the science insists it's harmless, the food comes out like rubber. I have a hard time believing the structurally more complex organic molecules (amino acids, fatty acids, vits and mins) aren't rendered inert. Besides, I love cold foods. Chicken, haddock, next day pasta, you name it. Yummay!

It sounds like everyone is not using the microwave correctly and is massively overheating their food honestly. You need to use low power settings and be careful not to heat the meat anywhere close to cooking temperature.

Most people I see just throw shit in there on high and leave it in too long, essentially cooking it again...

I eat my cooked chicken cold though.
