weird question about gastrointestinal health & prostate.

My insurance lapsed I was looking at information on prostate enlargement and prostatitis and found that an elarged prostate can cuase you to retain fluids and not allow for normal bowel movements. The fluids I can understand. Anyone have any info on the bowel movements?
