So I've come to the conclusion that non-stick pans are a disposable item. They wear down and you'll need a new one in 3-5 years. I've owned just about all of them besides some of the newly marketed ones and that includes high end All Clad non-stick in the 90s (I think $120 for a 12" metallurgically bonded wonder pan even then) that was supposed to be my "buy once, cry once last non-stick pan ever" - BULLSHIT, it wouldn't come clean after a number of years of heavy use even though they said impossible and all their techniques failed too. No replacement.
Anyway, once you make peace with that you buy something good but not too good as it's going away. I own these two pans now as my regulars along with a few other specialty pans. All-Clad but not super high end. Great pans, do the job, won't break the bank or make you feel ripped off when you replace them. My 10" has been going strong for 3 years, gets a shit ton of use/abuse, and remains perfect so they'll last a decent time.
Looks like a decent sale right now actually. Sometimes you can find them individually at Marshals and I've seen a 3 piece set of the same at Costco but not in a while.
The All-Clad HA1 Expert Hard Anodized Nonstick set includes a 10 and 12 inch Fry Pan, ideal for browning, reheating and pan-frying foods like eggs, vegetables, and meats. Its flat surface and flared side walls make it ideal for one hand sautéing and easy turning with a spatula.Experience the...
