Wellbutrin!! how do you react to it?.

I have used it very briefly 5 years ago for mild depression..

It is one of the few anti depressant that doesnt cause weight gain, and is actually a mild stim so also helps in ADHD according to everything I read.


However when I used it, it always made me sleepier. I tried it two three times before I gave up, but lately been thinking about using it for a mild anti depressant effect. But cant afford to be sleepy.

Does anyone else experience paradoxical drowsiness on it as opposed to being alert.

Just inquiring, probably goint to be a puss and not take it..

I take it, but I'm also prescribed adderall no drowsiness over here. Lol

Got prescribed it, took one pill, had an allergic reaction and got rushed to the hospital. I remember when I thought I was dying thinking to myself, "I wasnt that depressed, why did I take this shit"

WB raises seratonin,norepi, and dopamine. You can accomplish all of this with SAMe,L-tyrosine+5-OH tryptophan. I have tons of articles I've written on this so just go hunting through my blog in the mood category and I give you dosages,etc.

NO ADDERALL please-try GPC,don't fry your brain and adrenals! (I have a great GPC BTW and love it myself!)

I take it, Its very mild. It does help though.

No sides that I notice.

My doctor also prescribes me a low dose of Adderall just 5mg in the morning as a pick me up.

Over activity of the cholinergic system is thought to be one of the many imbalances that we call depression. Sometimes acetylcholine blockers are indicated.

Wellbutrin is both a selective dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and it is also a selective nicotinic acetylcholine antagonist.

If your nicotinic acetylcholine system is running on time, then adding Wellbutrin can make you tired. Too-much or too-little acetylcholine functioning can make you "tired" or "depressed" in this regard.

It just so happens that Wellbutrin is a nice little reuptake inhibitor, but it may not be appropriate for you due to it's acetylcholine properties. For the general population, this drug tends to be a rather good fit, as there are reasons for which many people need both of these properties in a drug.

But your previous Wellbutrin experience has provided us with some test data. We can either assume that your acetylcholine system is running-even, or it could be running low. So you may want to do a test by supplementing with a choline, such as the aforementioned GPC.

But in general, just taking procurer supplements (especially for dope-effects) will not fix a particular area of dysfunction that you may be experiencing. You should investigate until you discover your particular issue.

Wellbutrin has stimulant effect on me.
I feel great on it and it helped me through the winter season, and also to cut down and stop a nicotine habit of nicotine gum. The gum was a crutch left over from a chewing tobacco habit.
No sexual sides or weight gain or fatigue like other SSRIs.
My wife used it quit smoking, and she lost weight and it exploded her sex drive well beyond normal.
