Wendler 5/3/1 Deloading

How important do you guys feel that the deloading phase of Wendler 5/3/1 really is? Could I just take 4 or 5 days off from the gym & start over? Thanks!
 
IMO the deload week is just as important as the heavy weeks

listen to your body but I agree with walker 11. I am not currently doing it, but when I was I would deload once, then next time thru I felt a bit fatigued and had some joint pains so I took the week off pretty much (actually did some complexes 2x per week for a week) then got back at it.

The othre thing I noticed with guys who feel burnt after it, is when you talk to them, during much of the three weeks they did too much assistance work and went too heavy with it. I find this takes away from the simplicity and ease of the program.
 
If there's one thing I've learned in my 5 years of training it's to always deload. You can listen to your body but sometimes your mind wants to keep going more than your body can keep up and then you get injured or regress in progress.

I think the 4th week deloading is perfect for most people. I've learned to not push too hard for too long. Push hard for 3 weeks then deload 1 week. 3 steps at a time. The deload won't hurt your strength and will keep you healthy.
