What Anti-Virus Program?

I've had major conflicts with my PC today. I'm currently using Norton Anti-Virus but it expires in less than a month. I want to upgrade my anti-virus program immediately. Should I just go with Norton 2005 or is there something better?

I'm no computer expert but Norton is good. So is PCcillin. As long as you have one of them, you are good. You should also have lower level adware/spyware programs installed such as Lavasoft, SpyBot, etc and a firewall. I spent $160 for an expert to totally revamp my computer.

i just put on norton system works premire 2k5 (81 bucks using school discount) and adaware SE personal (free).... my computer was fucked... it took me 14 hours of running this shit (yes, took that long to install, download, scan, delete ect) and now my computer is fine

NSWP2k5 is worth the cash

Norton hasn't failed me yet. They're big enough that they seem to stay on top of this shit.

I'll let someone else comment but why upgrade? You can still go the Symantec website and download the Intelligent Updater, which they update at least once a week.

I use my internet on AOL beucase my internet explorer is FUCKED with adware and popups. Will this stuf get rid of ALL of that?

Norton is good but I think a program called panda is a better choice and costs less. You can buy it at staples

its just as good as Norton but if for some reason you get a Virus while using their software they will pay to have ur pc fixed where as Norton will not.

Use multiple tools

IMO, Norton and McAfee both use too many system resources (slows computer- I have fast hardware but as a programmer I want ultimate performance). Plus, I've found I often need to run a couple of different programs to either detect or remove some virus types.

I use AVG from http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php (it's FREE) and I also run an on-line scan from Trend Miicrosystems **broken link removed**

Panda on-line scan is also a good choice just to make sure your PC is completely clean:
